My gree invertor 1 ton is struggling during evening . Its current intake going around 12 amperes during initial 20 mins . Thats quite high for 1 ton.
It is installed at first floor and no insulaton. Got 1 ton for running on generator . Though room becomes comfortable but this much amp from 1 ton are concern.

12 AMP????? You MUist Be Mistaken.....Its COmpressor Is Rated For Like 6 Amp I Guess...How Come Its Pulling 12amp

must be something very wrong with it.....it shld never pull such high amps

No doubt it is very hot and ac has to work hard but consuming such high current is not right. It can take more time to cool room but should not exceed max 8 or 9 amp. It is afterall a 1 ton ac. Gree viola. Any one else has this model , would like to know how much their units consuming.

Sir AC ka kasoor nahi hai, garmi he itni parr rahi hai. Read my above post about my 1.5 orient. Although its going max to 8.5 nowadays but it is staying there continously.

Does you amperes come down from 11?

Yes it drops to 8 or 9 after 1 hour and at night works at around 7 or 8

Don't know correctly about inverter series...
But Gree always take more amperes in normal Non-inverter AC. We have a Haier 1ton AC at our home and also a Gree Non-inverter 1ton AC at home..

Haier always operates at 4.5-5.5 amperes in normal operation whereas Gree operates at 6-6.8 amperes both the unit's are at ground floor and both room's have almost same conditions...

I haven't found any thing good in Gree AC'S in my point of view Gree just has good air flow.... Haier cool's better than Gree...

Guys my Gree 1 ton inverter on 1st floor with roof & one side exposed to sun running 12-14 hours / day with UPS backup consuming around 20 units per day.Please share your consumption too.
One thing I noticed the air throwing fan of inner unit increases amps about 0.70 with every increase in speed of fan.i think it is too much just for fan throw.
Minimum consumption of amps is when AC cooling is near to room ambient temperature or when I run AC with slowest fan speed.

Dear all ...just want to share my observation since last few days of very hot temperatures that even non invertor AC's are not able to make the room comfortable and under such circumstances there is no point of saving electricity through invertor AC..... i an living on first floor where room is directly exposed to sunlight from two sides and believe me my new 1.5ton kenwood AC was not able to handle this much heat .... even in AC it was like a room cooler feeling .... but the same AC makes you shiver at night due to no sunlight ... so my theory of not buying an invertor AC for first floor rooms looks fine apparently

The purpose of ac is to make the room comfortable, not so chilled that you have to pull over a blanket. Because super-chilled would make you sick very soon due sudden temperature changes when you leave the room or go to bathroom.

Today orient company tech come and inspect the Ac and says it doesn't have any gas thats why its not working, will come back again tomorrow to fill the gas, and he visit same day with pink cylinder[emoji14]he filled the gas now working fine. And there was no charges either visiting or gas charges

For all those who claim Inverter ACs do not save on Bills, these are the actual bills I've paid. Plz see the amount I paid last year in May and this year in the same month. the only difference is that last year I had one 1.5 ton and one 1 ton normal ACs installed and this year I installed two 1.5 ton ACs (kenwood 3-dc and Gree G10).

I do agree that as the weather gets warmer the ACs will have to work harder, however, the will still do better than normal ACs.

Savings are clear from the bill paid. I guess per unit price is more or less the same for Kelectric and LESCO
