Islamabad to lahore via M2 motorway. any tips?

Hi guys, i am planning to go to lahore soon via motor way on my civic 95 on cng.

is there any tips you guys would like to give me?

for example from which spots should i get the cng re-filled?

No special tips or stuff i have i mind you can get CNG filled from BHERA i guess its the mid point.it there is too much rush at motor way pump then i have seen ppl getting off motorway and getting cng filled and then coming on motorway again.

there will be checking at ISB entry so keep necessary documents with you.
CARDs govt offivials and stuff dont work LOL they say its not punjab LOL

not my first time.....i came from khi to isl when we moved here....i drove my civic all the way. and then from lhr 2 isl went via M2.

but at that time weather wasn't as hot as it is now.....

and on the other hand i have heard from a few ppl that for CNG pressure on CNG pumps on motorway sucks....so there are specific locations where you can get off motorway to get CNG re-filled and those pumps have good pressure.

Ok as i've done 80K kilometers on motorway back in 2005 in just 9 months in my honda city so here's few important points for u.....

Motorway par entry k saath he CNG pumps hian, get ur CNG filled and put 500Rs. petrol as someone suggested..... Wear seat belts and start ur journey as motorways par seat belts na hone par challan hy. Don't talk on cell phone warna parcha.... don't over speed, us par bhi parcha. in central lane don't go less than 90km/h warna phir parcha agar central lane me rahna hay to 100+ rakhni hy, better maintain to 120..... agar slow hona hay to left lane me ajao, over take k liye right lane use karo..... First interchange is CHAKRI service area, get CNG filled from there, have cigeratte and a cup of coffee.... continue, kalar kahar me thrs no CNG so keep on moving..... slopes start hojaengi, interesting area of 10kms..... speed limit is 50km/h.... don't over speed there, i repeat, DONT OVER SPEED IN THIS AREA.... not even at 60km/h.... warna PARCHA n most important, dekhne me wo turns itne mushkil nahi but as u move above 50km/h, they are difficult to handle for newbie in that area and turns are slippery too...... jese he 120 ka board dekho, phattay chak deyo ull feel like ur flying cuz u have just covered 10kms in 15minutes on snail speed..... BHERA service area ajaega..... CNG fill kar diyo paa jee, cigeratte pi liyo paa jee, coffee pi liyo paa jee jaaaaannnnn diyooooooo paaa jeeeeeeee....... SIAL service area ajaega, aslo called as BABU SABU interchange..... i think wahan CNG nahi hay, ab ban gai ho to don't know warna us waqt nahi thi....... agar ho to repeat the steps as u have done at BHERA otherwise jaannnnnn diyo paa jeeeeee...... ull reach SUKHEKHI interchange... if ur CNG consumption is good, ull get that otherwise choonkay pressure motorway par acha nahi hota, u may have to travel few kms on petrol...... fill up CNG cylinder, have a cigeratte and a cup of coffee..... mu hath dho lena, soo soo b kar lena, cuz is service area par bohat sakht aya hota hay us k baad jaannnn diyo paaa jeeeee....... lahore me utarte he thokar niaz baig CNG pump se gas dalwa kar chill karo............. have a nice journey....

PS: U may miss BHERA SERVICE AREA...... so as u c the board of "qayam o tuaam 2 kms". start slowing down and as u c an over head bridge crossing motorway, that service area is rite after passing under that bridge..... ENJOY BROTHER

Remember to get cigrattes before entering motorways...... As motorway par pack 15Rs. - 30Rs. more expensive hota hay........ haan get two redbulls, wo b motorway par charne se pehle cuz motorway par wo b expensive hain.... try to get as chill as u can.......

What is cheep on motorway, everything is expensive, uper se 100km ka farq bhe hai GT road k muqablay main i think. GT Road per help k liay workshops etc etc bhe bhot available hain.

i really prefer GT road maself. the only bad patch is from guj to kala shah kaku entrance

I bear all difficulties in GT Road because Motorway is said to be unsafe by some people that faced robs etc,

In 2004, I faced a really bad accident on motorway, The engine of my car blowed, I have Indus corolla at that time, but most of the engine is ok on the spot, the motorway mechanic available by the admin charged 30k. When they handover the car after 5hrs, I shocked to see that they have replaced just the pipes, serviced the whole engine, replaced plug wires, oil and some little works(not enen worth of 1k),

30k is an amount, I am not saying that they charged lot but I hardly point out some changes before the accident & after accident, In 30k u can make the whole engine with parts at that time.

That kalarkahar area is really a pain.
I drive there at 60km it's really hard to drive below it.

1. Don't keep a constant paddle, remove foot from gas after every 5-10mins and then press again..reduces chances of engine knock/blow/heating

2.keep a constant eye on temp guage, if starts climbing reduce speed for a while

1. Avoid traveling at night, it may be safe but sleep overcomes you

4.MW police in summers is always under the bridges and road side constructed area, if over-speeding look out at theses places. first fine is worth 700/- never had a second one but i think it is around 2000/-

@panic That kalarkahar area is really a pain. I drive there at 60km it's really hard to drive below it.

But i really enjoy that area...... When that 8 october wala zalazala happened, i was in faisalabad, went to pindi in some emergency and then back to fslbd in just 5hours 15 minutes..... left faisalabad tool plaza at nite 2:00 and exact 7:15morning i was back at fslbd tool plaza.... there was some real emergency... that day i drove at 110Km/h downhill and literally brakes were not working after leaving kalarkahar..... u can do but still if u remind all the turns and their intensity, but as i said before, for newbie its not possible and very dangerous, especially that S curve (called as killer turn) over motorway.... body roll over become maximum there

@CamryHybrid .......i really prefer MotorWay over GT Road....because Motorway is clean and not over crowded...
on GTRoad i have heard about the robberies at night time...
and also that in GTRoad many people drive in outta other roads on the Main GTRoad....and its crowded hence leading to accidents even if you drive real carefully.

although i myself have not driven on GTRoad yet....but i will when my trip can be flexible and on random timing and see for myself which one is better....but for now i plan to stick to motorway!
