Salam PW Brothers,
I am in K.S.A for performing Umrah with my mother since 11-03-2013.. Last friday I visited Jabal-e-Noor and Ghaar-e-Hira so sharing some pics of the day...Hope you like it
Hired a taxi from outside Haram and started my journey right after Fajr prayer..
Passing through the tunnel on Umer-ibn-khitab Road
Arrived at the base of Jabal-e-noor in about 10 minutes
From this point a very steep road ( about 30-45 Degrees ) goes up towards the Jabal-e-Noor and you have to walk for more than half a kilometer unless the taxi driver is kind enough to drop you up there till the end of the road..
Many of the pilgrims mostly Iranian and Turkish already coming down from the top...These people normally go at night or well before Fajr to avoid rush at ghar-e-Hira
The point where the road ends...Its all stairs till the top...But these stairs are not of an even height ...If one stair is 4 inches high, the next one is more than a feet...So going uphill is a real test of your "Goddas" :)...Views from the first rest point...
The way up....Pilgrims can be seen going up between the middle and top left of the pic
Jabal-e-Noor....
The first break after 15 minutes of hiking... The view downhill..
View on my left...Abraj-ul-bait ( Zam Zam towers ) can be seen in the middle right of the pic ...
masha allah
i have also had the honor to hike up both these mountains.....
Going or I would prefer say " Stairing " upwards
About half way is done..view downwards...
A tuc shop before the start of the top ridge
Going up..up..up , jabal-e-Noor is about 2500 feet above sae level....and without stairs it would've been very very hard to trek uphill , especially for the ladies and old men..
The top of the hill is getting closer and more clear
View on the other side of the mountain opened up
Reaching near the top
Some wild life around
