Assalam o alikum everyone.. Recently I heared in a video of Sunil Sir that japanese cars import is banned since 2 years.. I am thinking to buy a jdm car may be vitz 2011 or alto 2015 so will it be a good decision to buy a jdm car..? will the parts disappaers from market in near future or the prices will go to sky high..?? What your kind opinion please guide..

Bro if u want to buy vitz than go for it bcz vitz is highly successful car in pakistan parts are easily available. There is not a single issue to own a toyota vitz. But for Jdm alto it is not as common as vitz but pkdm alto is very common so u can use the parts of pkdm alto but i think vitz is a better option

source of parts for every JDM vehicle is scrapyards, submitted for information. IF anyone know suspension, drive train engine new parts shop for JDM vehicles specially for 660 cc and 1000 cc class please share name & location. ( not online shop )

for JDM vehicle the only brand new item you can get is tyres, air filter. Fuel filter and fuel pump is also an item which is available new at price which hardly few people are willing to pay.

stay away from locally used (abuse) JDM look for a locally produced vehicle to suit your budget.

I also need the overdrive drum of it (u-440),

Both brand new parts, btw, i also need the updated wiring piece for the evap solenoid., add that too.

Every part can be imported if it's still made by their respective manufacture. 95% of wear and tear parts are available for these cars new aswell you just need right contact to find them. Using 660 since last 4 years and never had any issues with parts availability

Ok, as you said, person need right contact, this automatically means these cars are not for common people.

Lets assume a 35 yr old widow with 2 children works in a bank and owns a jdm shahkaar.

Should she become parts importer? Or scour scrapyards?

Or lets take a common person, working day hours on salaried job, does he need to spare some time to "discover" these hidden "contacts"

Or

Just go back to the same showroom that has that logo and brand they have?

E.g. of sidemirrors are stolen of a jdm import and is owned by the widow mentioned above, should she scour the scrap market with her 2 children and pay 30k for a pair (because new showroom sales/parts counter doesnt exist)

Or if she had bought a local car, she can appoint a repair from the dealer she bought it from and not have to worry about scrapyards.

Totally agreed.JDM cars are not for everyone they are sutaible for specific buyers

I consider scrapped jdm as "trash".

I cannot quite understand your point. On one hand you claim that these jdm cars are amazing and heavenly and easy as pie and evrryone should buy them.

Then say that they are not for common person.

In another thread you mentioned that scrapyard have brand new parts.

Can you make up your mind on the debate please.

Was it urban or rural? Commuting or leisure?

Just to keep it sane, I myself owned a Vw Golf diesel in Pakistan,

Super cheap to drive around, 100% of its parts were not available locally, but as I am mechanic I would cross reference pattern parts, make them on lathe, import them from outside Pakistan etc etc. (Even its front wheel bearings, pads, discs, calipers etc
were not available)

I never recommended anyone to buy it regardless that it returned 20-22 km/lit everyday all day long,

I drove it for about 70,000 kms before I left Pakistan, that car was my hobby toy that I liked to tinker on.

My point was on the other thread is there are shops in Cha sultan pindi who imports brand new parts for JDM aswell. And Cha sultan is scrapyard technically so I used the term. Hope it's clear now.

72,000km rural and urban. It may not sounds so much but roads are pretty bad where I live but still on original wheel bearings axles etc...
