Do you have any pics of evidence suggesting there is infact a rear beam in the city? Also no one made any claims. All I said was that it seems like there is no rear beam in the city. Any sane person would come to same conclusion after examining the pictures.

Any sane person would first consider All the facts before concluding. As for the beam, none of us has any proof of the existence of a rear beam so it would be better not to reach on a conclusion as of now!

What facts dude? Some unseen cars in front? Were you there at the scene of accident? Do you for sure that the car infront was parked 1 foot infront of the coty or that city was actually rolled up 20-30 feet? Do you know for sure city was parked or was it racing? Have you even thought that ABS of city failed (as apparent by skid marks) and it actually rolled up quite further down the road? There are no facts and these are all assumptions. The only thing which isn't is the DAMAGE IN THE PICS

We may not have a proof but these pics are not a credible enough source for you to deduce on your own (as far as the safety beam is concerned)? Till the time you can prove otherwise, it is pretty safe to say city has no rear safety beam and buying it is infact a safety hazard for you and your family.

i just passing through kalma chook whare TOYOTA coralla hit in almost 4 cars including ARMY car .very fast in tha left side of parked cars waiting for tha school childrens banged into applied for city and farther 3 cars damaged badly ....

Guys Guys relax. These pictures prove nothing. Unless we are given some true scenerio. If the city was parked then even the rear beams would have shattered due to transfer of the total impact of a car moving up to the a speed of atleast 60kph [which we can assume by considering the damage] Otherwise if City has braked hard then again the brakes of corolla are to be blamed and the poor safety standards of city are the culprits too as mentioned by mani.

But the matter of fact is "We know nothing" thus lets just pray for the owners to these cars to recover from their loss soon.

sir gee, drive slow karne se bhi sometimes koi faida nahi. once i parked my car at a petrol pump while i bought engine oil, and would u believe it that a car actually hit it!! i mean the car driver hit my stationary car that was parked miles away from the petrol/cng pumps. and then he ran away, i was so shocked watching all this from shop window this happened at caltrex on canal road, the one that comes on canal road after thokar niaz (i was going to bahria town). if anyone by chance visit that pump then please see how far parking is from petrol/cng pumps. some drivers in paksitan do not deserve to be on the road. corolla driver ko beech bazar jootay parnay chahiyeen !

Sad to hear that bro. But driving slow is all we can do because 90% accidents are caused by speed.

The impact was slightly at the left side so the force was transferred in a haphazard manner than a straight impact's. Corolla's crumple zone did good but the remaining force was absorbed by the engine itself as when the force is down to a certain point, solid structures help more than collapsible ones. Also the distance from the tip of the bonnet to cabin (corolla) is greater than the distance of the tip of boot till cabin (city). More over, in accidents like these, we should not be commenting upon the quality of material used in cars or things which akin to it but learn from the stupidity of drivers and try to drive safe. We should be getting altis in the price we get xli here and honda city certainly has gone down when it comes to the materials used along with the design which make it more of a hatch than a car with boot.

No doubt the new corolla has got highest safety ratings in the crash tests and is in line of safest cars in its category. City was expected to do better, but thats what expected to happen when its a collision between Solid metal engine VS hollow boot of a car.. bt nonetheless the passenger cabin shud not have been twisted any way...
M happy with rolla bdw... it proved its quality!

well the city is damaged form behind the trunk is hollow consider if it was hit from the front that is the hood the damage would have been less catastrophic
