1) If you want to go via Lahore, stay first night at Sadiqabad/Yahim Yar Khan (about 650KM). This will even out the travel and you wont have to drive in night. But if you don't want to touch Lahore, you should aim to stay night at Bahawalpur (about 850KM) and if you choose this option - you need to start off very early in the morning because it may take about 15 hours to reach at Bahawalpur with reasonable speed and breaks.
2) Via Lahore you can stay second night at Islamabad/Murree easily and then go to Shogran next day. Via Bahawalpur you can aim to reach Shogran and stay night there.
3) You don't need to worry about road conditions, especially once you leave Sindh, the roads are great.
4) Try to keep following things to deal with any untoward situation:
- (for Car) Jumper cable, a piece of wire, basic tools, a couple of fuses, an extra headlight lamp
- (General) snacks and packed food items likes cakes and cookies, small cooler, hot clothes
General advice
Keep device with Google map available, whenever you have a doubt just stop the car and ask any passerby to confirm that you are on right track, on hills be very careful while overtaking also try to be patient with speed while going up hill and keep low gears also keep low gears while coming down hill.
I hope this helps!
With kind regards
