Brother it’s a compact sedan and not a midsize one plus it competes with civic and corolla not Yaris and city

Cerato could get renamed to K3 gloablly, just like Optima.
Top trim will have LED headlights similar to K5, with possible dynamic indicators.

Lower trims will have projector headlamps and regular indicators

Keep in mind when Sorento goes in production which already started, the plant capacity of 30,000 would be exhausted as per phase 1 of KLM. The planned extension to 50K total capacity is in phase 2 to complete sometime in 2023. I am not sure if its possible easily to produce 4 models aide by side. Sportage itself is average 12000 units a year or less say 15000. Then Picanto, and then Sorento..

I hope they being in Cerato, not sure if its possible.

I don't expect more than 500/month for Sorento tho, may as well be 300/month like picanto. I think they'll have decent space for Cerato (with a bit higher delivery times) till expansion works out. If they really want to launch it, they'd want to do it before the auto policy period ends so they can avail some benefits.

I hope they bring Seltos instead of cerato as both of them will fall under the similar price bracket. Seltos makes sense as no other car is there to compete with it except for MG ZS which is at a highly inflated price of 4.1million.

I don’t think they will bring it as they do offer alpha at a similar price bracket to ZS although a feature loaded seltos will be better then the alpha which doesn’t even have traction control

In Australia, the difference between base 2.0L versions of Cerato and Seltos is ~AUD 5,000. 21,000 for Cerato and 26,000 for Seltos.

In US, the difference is around $3,000. In Canada, CAD 5,000.

In Rupee terms, this is around 5-6 lac difference between both cars. In my opinion, this disqualifies Seltos as beside being significantly more expensive, it might also step on the toes of Sportage. Kia would want to cover max segments, I think we have enough crossovers lol

That was the initial impression but it was later launched in most major markets all around the globe.
In fact, Indian seltos(Sp2i) is inferior to the version sold in other markets(sp2) because of its smaller size and cheaper platform.

I believe if they price it close to 3.2 - 3.4 million mark then it can pose serious competition to mid size sedans even though both vehicle categories are miles apart. KIA sonet is also a good contender in price bracket of 2.5 - 2.8 million. Global dynamics are changing and SUV are more preferred. They can cash on changing preferences. On top of that these SUV will look somehow better than raised Yaris.

Yes, but that's a BIG "if", sounds unlikely.

KIA sonet is also a good contender

For now, I believe it is only produced and exported from India, which means no chance of it coming to Pakistan.

That’s sad it would have been a nice alternative to civic and corolla and imo would have been better then the outdated Elantra that we will be getting
