So those will remain vehicles of choice for rent a car companies due to being much cheaper, easy & cheaper mantenance as well as parts availability along with availibity of skilled mechanics. Motorway network from Karachi to lahore will be almost complete by next year only missing the sukkur-hyderabad section. A luxury cruiser like carnival will do good with rentals then, it'd be great for a roadtrip like that .

Bro agar car break down ki baat ho, then unfortunately, aisi unfortunate situation, kisi b waqt, kisi b car / brand k Sath arise ho sakti Hai. Iss k liay Kia Hona zruri nai! However, a lot is in the hands of driver and the owner.

If the vehicle has been kept well maintained and not abused / misued, then chances for such situation to arise become very less.

YES. I know people who would even pay up to 2000 if they are picked up from their house/office in lahore and dropped off at their house/office at ISB, cutting off all the hassle of getting to bus stations, waiting etc etc. Moreover, it's a luxury convenience service for executives, no comparison with bus. The Lahore-ISB route was just an example for understanding, one can start up with routes where bus can't go conveniently (such as tourist places). In foreign countries such services exists and doing good even though having bus services too. KIA claims 10 liters fuel per 100 KM so roughly in 40 liters of fuel it should make a trip between LHR-ISB, 40 x Rs:87.70 = Rs:3508 per trip fuel and roughly Rs:1500/- for miscellaneous = Rs:5008/- per trip should be the expenses. For maintenance and other expenditures as I said already, a lac or even two can be spared, still a huge amount can be saved as net profit from just one van, worst of worst case scenario it would save up a lac per month easily, anybody who knows transport business will understand this. Operating through an app can save all the hassle of bus stations etc. Its very practical. And no it should not brake down on the areas you mentioned, in fact it would do well because of its massive 3.3l v6 producing 270 horses. Nowadays, even hybrids are going to these areas and coming back like a charm. APV is a history, forget it.

Bhai agreed that such situation happens once in a blue moon and that it can happen to any brand. But which brand will have availability of skilled mechanics & parts in such remote areas. Carnival ko bs truck mei dal k isb, lhr ya karachi hi lana paray ga even if clutch plate fails which can happen. There will be no quick fix

Totally agreed let me give an real life example of a normal ie Honda / Toyota breaking in mid way
I was with my friends last year we went from Lhr to Isb we reached to our resthouse & got fresh for after reaching in Islambad we remained in our resthouse for 1 hour & then left for Peer sahawa
On our way peer sahawa Our 2010 model city odo 50k literally failed to accelerate was accelerating very poor suddenly we realised something is wrong with this car we went back downhill we could'nt even reach peer sahawa ,after finding a mechanic driving a car which was harldy getting driven had it's cluth plate & pressure plate got broke they were literally sar gaein we got them replaced our whole day got wasted (it was a vacation trip) then after getting new cluth plate & pressure plate installed we continued now I know this may already needed a cluth plate change but somehow it also broke in middle so if kia brakes then it's KIA .

ssangyong sold two cars with similar spec but incredibly powerful drivetrains. Both failed in Pakistan.

suzuki sold the APV and had to fold it up.

MB sold the MB100 series van in Pakistan which was excellent but had to fold it up because of idiotic aftersales.

Hyundai sold the Grace van which ran good - but due to political duress Hyundai had to pack up shop from Pakistan.

the usual problem is the decision makers sitting on the chairs eating samosay and chai are not even 1% informed of the Pk auto industry or market or are chopped up by political issues.

So why IMC launched Revo and Fortuner with diesel motors? Isuzu D-Max is also coming to Pakistan with 2.5 diesel engine. They make some adjustments to make it suitable for dirtier quality of fuel for local needs

Mercedse Benz is also going to start production of heavy trucks, how would they survive? Their diesels are much more advanced than that of Hino, Toyota and Nissan

your average repair shop including dealership carrying brand name are oblivious of basic tooling and even concepts of repair.

e.g. torque to yield bolts, NVH diagnosis, diesel fuel injection diagnosis.

I have been seeing it since I can remember - all the MB sprinter vans died in under 50K in Pakistan while I see them clocking over 1.5 million elsewhere, all the toyota D4D diesels died under 50K (partly toyotas fault for designing a piece of trash) and partly for idiots importing said piece of trash as gray goods.

fact of the matter is - non availability of after sales service makes a mechanical/tech product as useful as a blunt knife.

dont go even further than this forum - just lookup all the mechanical help requests - your average dealer mechanic cannot even work on a simple hydraulic pump - even with parts provided in hand. You are expecting a miracle here.
