Only one trim with few optional extras like alloy rims etc.
- what was the ex-factory price?
At launch it was 739,000/-. Over one year price was 8,49,000/- and that was without CNG
in 2002 CNG version was launched at 759,000 after realizing that sales are very bad due to high price.
- what was the difference between spectra & spectra special
Spectra special was launched in 2003. it had alloy rims as standard, CD player, door sash black and some different colour ootions.
- when was it discontinued, cause i have seen an ad for a 2005 spectra in last sunday's dawn classified, was spectra available til 2005??
Spectra was available till 2005 January
- why didn't dewan backed this car properly as it was a hit, as compared to their current lineup which i don't think they have sold more than 100 in 2 years
They lacked competence in the beggining as EFI was not common in year 2000. They had the tools but not many at dealerships knoew how to use them. After like one years, they brought in some koreans who gave trainings but i guess it was too late.
- how long will be the spares available in the market.. im perceiving spectra after year 2012
That is a highly subjective estimate. Totally depends of commitment of Dewan Farooque Motors. I think that is the one thing they can sell at this time i.e. PARTS but things are not very good at that front.
