well android auto is pretty straight forward just connect your phone with cable with the usb outlet and on your infotainment sys it will walk you through the steps to set it up.

Guys do you need to pull parking break button every time when you park the vehicle let say at home on a horizontal surface? I am trying to minimise its use to prolong its life

Always put your car in 'N' engage the parking brake, then shirt it to 'P' to prolong the life of your gear as brakes will be holding your car not the gear.

If you put your car in 'P' first and then engage the parking brakes, your gearlock will probably engage first, which is why you will have to use a little force moving it from 'P'.

If you parking at home and it's even surface then you can just put it in 'P' it will be fine. Just make sure it's even.

You mean hand brake? Yes you should! Otherwise the burden of stopping the car or keeping it still is on the gear box. Infact the process of applying hand brake should be STEP1 apply handbrake STEP1 shift to PARK. The reverse applies when going to DRIVE. STEP1 got to drive from park and STEP2 then release handbrake.

I have another NewBee question..... if I want to open the trunk while the car is in start mode like idling... how should I do it ?

Last day I went to emporium and the gate gaurd wanted to cheeck the trunk he tried pressing button multople time but all in vain.. than I had to shut down the car take .. and than it opened. thats kind of a wierd that I need to shut down every time I want to open trunk.. or am I missing some thing

Front passenger's window doesn't get locked. I just checked this today. (Sportage FWD)

Just open locks for all doors from driver seat's door panel. Once its unlocked, trunk can be opened by pressing the button from outside.

Thanks guys for the response. One thing more, i have seen sportage back tires are little bit tilted towerd outer side and tire inner portion seems to have more load. Any thoughts on this? Check the arrow

That happened to me as well in fortress , the trunk button only works if the car is in 'P', it does not work if the car is in 'D' or any other gear.

Every car is like this actually as the rear wheels are negative cambered for more stability and better cornering. With load, this phenomenon gets more pronounced. The most "visible" this is in 2003-2007 Eagle Eye shape civic. Very very very normal thing

Is using brake hold better than shifting the car to P If we are in a start-stop traffic or on red signals?

Yes, brake hold is better for start stop traffic.
Shifting car into 'P' and then back to 'D' wear off gear faster unless you stopping car for more then 5minutes. Gear parts and wear off is expensive then brake pads, so use brakes instead of putting car into P, N in start stop traffic.

I do feel the same that tyres are little out from bottom, also since I previously had corolla 2016 1.6, I am not pleased with its handling at high speeds, my awd constantly needs steering correction on speeds above 130, while corolla had way better handling.

I asked the guy at kings gate, that I do feel there could be alignment issue but my car drives perfectly straight on speeds below 110. He said most people have more issues after they get their alignment done so I haven't got it checked yet.
