One known person visited Lahore Dealership today and he was told by the staff that it might go upto 65 coz the parts are almost all imported (don’t knw how much truth in that or it just plain blabber )

Yes almost all parts are imported until local suppliers are ready to produce parts. As per auto policy till 2021, all new car companies can import parts with a subsidiaries. I hope locally produced dashboards and other plastic panels are as good as we are seeing now. Keep in mind, this shortage will be replaced in international market in less than 2 years, I dont know if it makes sense for Kia Pakistan to develop local parts if KIA planning to replace this model with new generation in line with international release

Normally it is at fire wall, door jamb and at windshield.. if its not there, then its not a CBU. It is a 17 digit alphanumeric number.

That's exactly what baffled me in the first place. Price is the foremost factor for a buyer, and here, discussing Sportage, all of a sudden Fortuner was 'introduced' which is in a totally different price bracket. And then needless arguments over why Fortuner is superior to Sportage.

Nothing wrong about being excited for a product that’s better than the scrap quality we are used to in our country if you ask me. If i was looking for my next car I would be pretty excited as well.

Scrap or not, a maintained Corolla will last you decades. Kia has no such history of durability. How many maintained Spectras do you see? Or what about the Sportage launched in Pakistan decades ago? How many of those still remain? Only time will tell if the new Sportage is any good or not. Don't jump to conclusions.
