Great move by KIA even if it is less equipped and I doubt if people really use sunroof in Pakistan, 8 months are extremely hot and 12 months are extremely polluted.

This Kia Sportage Alpha will definitely hurt Civic Oriel and Grande. Kia has slashed some features but It would be interesting to see a comparison of Civic features and Kia Alpha features, as most of the person opting for Alpha want to see what features they'll get and what they'll have to compromise.
I believe it's a masterstroke. YB are think tanks. The feel of having a big car is the most important thing for Pakistanis, that feeling of superiority and road presence. Things like VSA or airbags don't matter as much to Paskitani's or else you want be getting calls from life insurance agents every other day selling insurances that no one buys. A big car is a big car.

Today I was quoted 1st week of Aug for FWD Sep for AWD
There is no difference in driving pleasure. And yes AWD will have better resale. If you can afford than definitely get AWD as it has leather, electric seats, auto tail gate and front parking sensors.
