Now, after all the discussion and debates etc, i found myself love with sportage. But the main problem starts here. I have seen some of the cars recently over the adds of olx, here at pakwheels and also at the showrooms of used car at KHI. Unfortunately, if i ask someone for sportage, he demand sooo much amount that in my opinion become much bigger for sportage. I mean one can easily buy surf, land crusir etc. in such an amount. So i request any experienced member to guide me from where i can have this car at mkt rate as this is my first purchase so i m much confused. i want to buy 2oo4 with light color.

u should be aware that it is slow moving item and ppl do not want to invest and those who feel it important, like u, it becomes precious and ppl selling may demand upto 8lac for the item that r u searching 4 converted.

try using olx pakwheels and especially sunday paper media.

sportage initially failed because of two reasons
1. its karachi made radiator( landi)
2. Its original diesel engine ( 69HP)

now people realise they have other options like
toyota 3s 2000cc (110-240 hp)
mazda F8 1800cc(100 hp)
mazda FE 2000cc(145hp)

that is why people are more interested in sportage and people who have it tend to ask more for it...

if there was no demand for it owners would sell it for less

Brother there was a time when sportage price (in diesel) was not more thn 5.5 lacs. But now prices are raised up to sky. I bought 2004 sportage with 3S engine @ Rs:8.5lacs & after doing some more works it cost me more thn million rupees.
One have to pay more for good machine

Work Done in my sportage after I bought it

1. Front differentials complete service, timing belt & bushes changed cost me around 10k
2. Rediator changed cost me 7k
3. Pressure hub locks replaced by manual hub lock cost me 5k
4. Front hub shaft changed cost me 4k
5. New korea made head lights cost me 15k
6. New korea made four shocks cost me 15k
7. New seat covers as Orignal leather seat covers were v.slipery cost me 6k
8. Starting self service, generator service & misc cost me abt 3k
9. Break leathers cost me 8k
10. Front screen changed cost me 5k
11. Fuel pump changed cost me 3k
12. AC service cost me 3k
13. Tyres changed cost me 25k
14. Misc: items eg: plugs, few electrition work etc cost me abt 4k

Most of the work done by me was only for self satisfaction as I want complete peace of mind during drive. I mentioned the rates so that other sportage users get idea of its maintance cost. All the stuff I bought for my sportage is orignal korea made. Here in Peshawar almost all the sportage stuff is easily available except its auto gear box that I am still searching to make my sportage automatic

few questions are still a type of MYTH for me. 2day i confused a lot when i saw a sportage with s3 toyota engine 2003. the owner was claiming that he never altered any thing during its replacement of the engnine and also my mechanic was supporting. this all ruined my 1.5 months research????

u r the owner and user of sportage with 3s, r u happy because people still warn me that the car loading capacity is at risk with and its "CHALL" also differers so people prefer to get it in mazda.

Well brother as I hv toyota 3S engine not Mazda f-8 so I cant say anything about Mazda engine. I hv seen guys on PW forum claiming that F-8 is much better thn 3S. Keep one thing in mind that both the enginees are 1800cc. And one have to do alteration (v.little) to fix petrol engine in it. As I hvn't seen f8 in sportage so I can't say abt alteration if u go 4 f-8 but as I told U before that U must do some alteration.

As for as my sportage is concerned, I am happy with its performance. Its Maximum speed is 120km/hr on cng. While on petrol its abt 135-145. Consumption is abt 150-165 kms (long) in 65 size cylider

Complete 4ltr is consumed any +/- as engine is too big?? and how much mileage its gives u?? can we use toyota indus oil filter ???

I was searching for sportage for a long time n wanted to replace with my civic 95,infact i had a great liking for out of market cars especially sportage,But none of my family, friends,mechanics liked my idea and they kept insisting not to buy sportage even its free.. last week i was getting an excellent oppurtunity to buy one in a very very reasonable price, single owner used but duplicate book, isb number ( i have a ready buyer for my civic 95) so cash was not an issue...but finally i decided not to go for sportage caz of the following reasons.
Body cosmetic parts are hell expensive and very very rare available..for example rear light costs Rs.4700/- Each (One Piece). front parking lite Rs.2700/-,(dont know about the headlights), contrary to it civic back light is available for Rs.1000/- and parking light for Rs.225, where as running cost is almost double then civic.Civic is giving 3.20 to 3.75 rs per Km on long with full AC where as sportage Av is Rs.6-7 per Km.then 3S parts are available in very limited places ....for example if u want to buy Gas kit or water body you will have to search in sultan ka kho..or some place like that.and the most important, the road grip and acceleration, no match of civic with sportage...driving a civic is absolutely a delight.Last but not the least Sportage has a real bad bad resale...Buyer will buy it on his own choice price. Nevertheless, SHOK KA KOI MOOL NAI, AGAR BOHAT HI PASAND HO TO LAY LAINI CHAHIYA...KIL KIL MUKAY.

Civic is a car (sedan), Sportage is a mid-size suv. One you could say is built for speed while the other for hauling passengers, luggage over (somewhat) any sort of terrain. All the while giving the occupants of the vehicle a very clear and striking view of their surroundings, which a car (civic) does not when compared on these lines. How can you compare the two? Both are built for different purpose, hence different price range as well as parts. You can compare a civic with a Nissan sunny and sport age with stavic or Prado, then maybe your comparison would be much more helpful.
