I am not a BRV user or fan. But in my opinion, we should view BRV as a product that satisfies a certain market. For a middle class person with a need of 7 persons to seat in a vehicles, BRV comes natural to him. Very few can afford smart a$$ looking Kia Carnival. Aside, many see car as a tool or utility to satisfy need.

Getting 3 BRV comment is out of place.

Let me explain why the comparison makes sense. BRV is based on City and Fit whereas Stonic is a beefed up Rio.

Both Rio and Fit are comparable platforms. Their engine capacities, overall dimensions, power and everything else is comparable. So we are comparing Apples to Apples, unlike your example which is comparing Apples to Watermelon with the Fortuner example.

BRV may be pathetic, but to believe Stonic is far better than it, one has to wait for it to launch and come on the roads. For now, all we have is spec-sheet and it makes it more comparable to BRV than Civic or Corolla.

Vezel is based on City and Fit.
BRV is based on Brio,

• No one is comparing Stonic with Civic and Corolla, rather comparing it with Yaris, City, Alsvin.

If not comparing only considering an upgrade. BRV offers utility but at the cost of comfort. It is a low end product and internationally positioned under Honda City. Also under 5 seat Honda Vezel.

Its selling very well. We may think alto or wagon r is a piss product but they are bestsellers in our market.

Stonic may face hard time if its top end variant is around 3.5m. it cant compete with a 1.6 altis which costs around 3.3m.Its basic variant will have hard time competing yaris and city at 3.0m as city and yaris top end variants have good features at 3.1m and obviously toyota badge means a lot. KLM has jumped in a very tricky price point. Parts prices and service costs are big issues still for the sportage after 2 years. For Masses who drive these mid tier cars like city yaris etc parts and service cost and resale are some big factors. Some people may buy it but not the masses unless the top variant is priced at 3.2m and base is priced at 2.7m-2.8m in which case buying a supposed suv instead of base yaris/city may make sense

It's just like a slightly big Vitz. And if Kia Pakistan stripped its features off, then there would be no reason to buy this car.

I don't find any reason for it's top variant to be more expansive than 3.5 M ... I don't why people will buy it even at that price ...

I am a bit skeptical regarding the performance of the car
With a 1.4L engine and comparing it with its size n etc, do you guys think its amply powered

My concern (i have a 1.3L City 2014) requires some effort climbing up elevations

Its smaller size ... Actually it's about the size of hatchback but little bit bigger ... In reviews from other countries , some say that it's automatic transmission is set to keep rpm low so need to use manual get more power

I personally believe that it's price should be comparable with Yaris, though it's cheaper than Yaris in most countries.

My hope is 3million maximum, but as per market Dynamic, it can touch 3.5 million, while no idea on what ground pakwheel blog is continuously placing it 3.5 to 4.0 million bracket.

Exactly , people with 4 million budget can always go for alpha , much better than this ... there is no way kia is going to launch a product to kill the other ... It doesn't make sense ... I think they will launch it at 3.3 to 3.7 max ... However , it should be between 3 to 3.5 max ...

3.5 is a LOT for this hatchback.

In other countries its price is comparable with yaris/vios in dimensions its just 2 inch wider then toyota vitz.

How can someone buy this small car in the price of 3.5 million, when there are option of 1.6 corolla X with ex-factory price of 3.2 million and civic base model with ex-factory price of 3.6 million.

Top of the line model of stonic should be priced below 3 million otherwise it doesn't make any sense to buy such a small car at this rate, in long term it will be a flop model if it is priced so high up.

People like pakwheels who are saying that it should be priced at 4 million are either on the payroll on kia or donot know the market at all.

Exactly, it should be comparable with Yaris models in term of price. Infact their variants should be 100k less than comparable Yaris variants. I also never understand why Pakwheel editors are placing it against Grande/Civic/Elantra pricing. It will be big flop obviously. However, 3.5m for Stonic GT with all feature still make some sense as if we compare it's price in other countries. Best price bracket should be 2.4 million to 3.0 millions only.

Currently, Kia is 50/50 in my opinion. Sportage launched at very good price, great decision, then Picanto was poorly priced especially with 2nd gen model. Then Sorento was launched in reasonable pricing and now Stonic is coming. It's TIC TOK, This is why, I am afraid that Lucky's will miscalculate market this time

I too am looking forward at the price at which they launch stonic, if they overpriced it like city 6th gen then i guess yaris is a great option you just have to get past its shape otherwise its good in comfort, fuel average and safety features.

Yes, price will decide it's fate. Trip down variants at 3-3.5m will be big failure I think. At least, I will not go with this and will go with Altis 1.6 SE.
