Only 25% of the village remains. Rest was washed away as a result of flooded hunza river

Whenever there was risk of attack on the village, livestock was hidden in this secret place. I think livestock was the only precious belonging of the dwellers of ganesh village

Moosafer khana. As indicated earlier, ganesh village was a strategic stop over along ancient silk route.

I spent another day driving around villages of hunza and nagar valley. That day clouds started gathering around.

As the sun was setting, clouds started getting thicker and ultimately enveloped Rakaposhi. Thinking that it may start raining, I decided "ub kooch kuro".

Packed up, set the alarm to leave karimabad next morning at 5:30

I was on the driving seat at 5:45 in the morning.... still dark.... started descending towards KKH. When I reached Aliabad, I saw NATCO bus bound for Rawalpindi. Hoping for a cup of tea in the same "dhabba" near NATCO bus stop where I have had enjoyed a simple breakfast years ago, I stopped by the bus. But there was nothing, just a couple of guys loading cargo on the bus.

Had a chat with the driver who indicated that he will leave latest by 7 and that he must join the caravan leaving from Gilgit.

It was already dawn when I resumed my loooong journey back to home.

Stopped at rakaposhi view point for breakfast but everybody including rakaposhi was sleeping

I started this thread at 11.00 Pm and its 3.10 am ....almost 4 hours at a stretch.....Once I started ,could not stop till end..wonderful trip and great narration....A very inspiring and tempting thread ....
