@wanderlust i came acros your thread today and read all in one go, could'nt have stoped reading the thread once i started it.... realy amazing and enjoyable... i wished to travel on the KKH til the china border since my school life but havent found any chance uptil now... stil wish to have trip on KKH....
anyways your trip must have been a matchless experience and your narration is too interesting and enjoyable!! thumbs up

Beautiful trip and great effort, but what were the exact dates in which you visited this place, I was expecting a lot of colours of autumn assuming it was made in end of october. I was there with my family end of October 2010 and the Hunza valley was full of colours, yellow, red and green. I see all your pictures show predominantly green colour only. Nonetheless great trip.

After driving around direction less, I thought "why not visit baltit fort this time". Although I love visiting forts but during my last trip to hunza and nagar, I did not feel urge to visit this for one simple reason......it appears like a small house from karimabad bazar.

I parked my car at the big play ground of boys school as one has to climb up the streets to reach the fort....

after a couple of turns in the narrow streets, saw the first sight of the fort. It does not appear to be that small

And before the entrance is the ticket office. The window was open but no one was there. wait of five minutes extended to twenty minutes and I finally climbed up to the open area to have a full view of the fort. It is huge structure if we consider that it is on top of mountain
