On the way back, we stopped at Satpara lake. This used to be a very beautiful heart shaped lake. It is converted into a dam now. Now it resembles with Lulusar lake.

Lovely pictures. I am myself planning a trip but wanted to get an idea what time is the best to visit these places. I really hate and want to avoid traffic & crowd.. i have heard there's peace in September-October there. Can you help me out when should we go.

Secondly, I wanted to ask which ride do you need to visit (considering from Islamabad to Khunjerab pass). I own a Honda City. Will it be able to go all the way to Khunjarab pass.

Sept Oct will be the best time. You will find more greenery. Don't visit now as this whole area comes under major landslide.

Honda city is good to go. Just make sure it is Mechanically fit cz it will be very difficult to find a good Mechanic on the way.

Day 7: Shangrilla lake and traveling back to gilgit side.

The best fruit you will find here is Apricot. Abundance of this fruit. You can request peoplez they will let you go in their farms. You won't normally find fresh apricot in market, they all dry it up and sell it.

For the night, we stayed at Natco stop. It is closer to gilgit skardu road division , probably 30km before.

We were welcomed in Naran by a massive rain. The most severe we have ever seen. It lasted for 2 hours so imagine the damage it would have done.

Initially we had a plan to stay in Naran because it is not considered as safe to travel at night but had to change it due to massive rush.

We rushed from naran quickly. We speeded up so we can leave this area but then came the toughest part of our trip....

This is a landslide of glacier. The whole glacier was pushed on road along with trees and rocks. It all happened due to rain.

We reached at this roadbloack around 21:00. We were being told that it will be cleared in just couple of hours but it took 7 to 8 to clear the road.

This is for all those people who are tempting to go to this trip now.

This vechile got stuck in mud. Driver tried his best but failed. In the end he had to leave his vechile to save himself. I must say Wise decision made.

Luckily no human loss.

Concluding, i must say i loved this trip despite all the hurdles. We missed Baltit fort, eagle nest and fairy meadows. For that i will surely visit again.

All travel lovers should visit this place once. People planning for naran, kashmir, sawat should skip and come here. You will surely won,t regret.
