Kodaikanal Revisited - 2022

After all the bends and curves in the road we espied a public park just before kodaikanal township limits and decided to stretch our legs a bit before heading for lunch.

the park had an okay rose garden and we welcomed the peace there to rejuvenate ourselves

outside another popular park i visited last time but gave a miss this visit. we went walking in this area as there is a large outdoor market selling everthing from souvenirs to local delicacies especially various kinds of chocolate sweets which kodaikanal is well known for.

the second day a trip to a Berijam reserve forest and lake area of kodaikanal. one has to get a permit from the forest rangers to enter this area and only up to a point. pic below is near the entrance to the forest road.

The road to Berijam lake. This is not a public road. This access is only available to permit holders and one can obtain this at local ranger's office prior to entering the reserve forest. Only 20 permits are issued in any given day and one has to exit the allowed areas by 130pm.

This is the end of the road at the Berijam forest . From here on one walks a bit in the designated area. What one gets to see is wilderness just as nature intended it to be.

After a while i got to get the feeling that we were being watched and not by humans so suggested we get going back.
