Planned a road trip from Lahore to Karachi and back with family from 22nd January to 29th January.
Alhamdolillah the road trip was completed without any trouble.
Started journey from Lahore at 7 AM and reached Multan at 11 AM. Used M3 and then M4. There is a fuel pump now open at the first Service Area on M3 and after that there is no Pump. Washrooms of mosques can be used at certain service areas which are open. Went to see Shah Rukn Alam and Bahauddin Zakariya Tombs in Multan using Shah Shams Tabrez Interchange. Refuelled from Hascol Pump just before Motorway Interchange. Washrooms at this pump are relatively clean. Food is mediocre.
Left Multan at 1 PM and reached PanoAqil at 5:30 PM while stopping over at few places for washroom and once for Coffee. Total distance covered 761 KM. Stayed at Pano Aqil Mess for the night.
Left Pano Aqil at 8:40 AM next day and reached Kot Diji Fort at 10:30 AM. Used N5 for this route and from RaniPur turned towards Kot Diji. The road is very good. KotDiji Fort is also a must see place.
Left Kot Diji at 12 PM and used Mehran Highway starting from KUMB. I found Mehran Highway better than N5 since there were no tractor trollies with sugarcane etc. The road is excellent but single carriage.
I reached Nawabshah at 2 PM and Sanghar at 3 PM. Total 330 KM from Pano Aqil Cantt.
Left Sanghar at 10:30 AM on 26th Jan and reached Karachi at 3 PM. Stopped at Nooriabad for lunch for 30 mins.
Started return journey to Lahore on 28th Jan at 6 AM from Karachi. Reached Hyderabad at 8 AM and Moro at 10:30 AM. Had breakfast at Royal Taj Moro. It had clean washrooms and good food. Stopped for 30 mins and started at 11:AM and reached Rohri at 1:30 PM. Stopped at few places to buy Kinnows and khajoor from khairpur. Refuelled from Rohri and took M5 Motorway for Rahimyar Khan. Reached RahimyarKhan at 4:30 PM. It took 1 hour to reach RYK Hotel from Motorway Interchange.
I had planned to leave for Lahore at night but everyone said to leave after sunrise so took their advise and left RYK at 7:15 AM. Reached Uch Sharif at 9 AM to visit Bibi Jaivindi’s Tomb. A small road leads to the tomb. Professional people are there at the tomb to pressurize you to pay money. They plead, cry and try to intimidate you. Left UchSharif at 9:40 AM and reached Multan at 10:50 AM. Refuelled from Hascol near ShahShams Tabrez Interchange and had brunch @Waseeb restaurant. All of us suffered from food poisoning after eating there. Thankfully we were at the last leg of our journey.
Left Multan at 12 PM and reached home at 3:50 PM (Lahore).
Travelled 2762KM in total and consumed 168 Ltrs of fuel. Vehicle used Corolla 1.6.
Breakdown of cost is here for anyone to have an idea. I stayed in Mess at Pano Aqil and Karachi. No cost was incurred during stay in Sanghar and RahimyarKhan.
