Land Cruiser AX bumpy ride

Asalam o Alaikum everybody I have recently bought a land Cruiser Ax 200 series 2012 model. The problem I am facing is the uncomfortable ride. I don't know why but the ride is slightly bumpy. I don't know how else to put it but the correct word would be kay" Gari halka halka tapti hai" when I bought it two months back it drove fine I bought it from Lahore and drove back to my hometown and it worked just fine then one day my mechanic discovered that the rear shock was leaking I replaced both the rear shocks and then the problems started the ride became bumpy. I took it to three different mechanics everybody said there is nothing wrong with the suspension then somebody asked me decrease the air pressures he reduced it to 25 psi I wasn't satisfied then I increased the air pressure to 33 psi and the ride became better but still it is a bit bumpy and on the rough side I have kept every single generation of prado I have kept 2 100 series land cruisers all of them were comfortable to drive this one despite being new is rough so you can understand my frustration
So I need help to diagnose the issue why is it uncomfortable
1. It was upgraded to 20 inch rims by previous owner could that be the reason
2. Or the air pressure I am using is inaccurate
3. Or there is something wrong in the suspension
Note: There is no noise or anything that would indicate a problem in the suspension and the rear shocks were replaced by a trusted mechanic who has been working on my cars for many years

20 inch wheels would obviously make ride quality worse compared to a smaller sized wheel.

You state issues started after replacing rear shocks. What brand were these rear shocks replaced with? If they are non-oem, it is possible the ride quality may be different compared to OEM.

Does your vehicle have height control? Possibly some issue with that?

If ride feels bumpy (halka halka tapna), then it means the shock absorbers are not working and all the load is on springs.

The shock absorbers which mechanic replaced were Kabuli or brand new ?

I wish your answer would be brand new. Because Kabuli shocks replacement pops up many similar technical issues.

Well its original size rims are 18 or 17 inches of your model ? I guess 18 is actual size.

sir @darkheartbeast please drive vehicle to a ramp and check underneath, if there are any extra metal or rubber spacers installed for springs. please mention your location

The shock absorbers were brand new according to him I just saw the price neither the actual shocks nor the installation process they were about 62k or 68k for both rear shocks if you have any idea regarding the price then I think that would simplify things @affanhaq94 affan bhai this is a reply to you as well

Would be so kind as to explain that to me in lay man terms please I only know that spacers are used to adjust the stance I think you're talking about a packing which is done by some taxi drivers

Its good to know that shocks were brand new.

Toyota, Tokibo, KYB, etc. are the most commonly available here and additionally sports shocks also available which start from 1.5 lakh per pair to 3-4 lakh per pair.

For regular driving, the best are Toyota’s original shocks. They are slightly expensive but very durable. Some people call them air shocks too.

But after changing the shock absorbers, you drive and cross the speed bump and it immediately felt the difference. In Lahore these shocks are mostly available at Nishat autos only. If the mechanic has replaced them with original Toyota’s shock absorbers, then vehicle should not behave like this.

Affan Bhai it is an Ax so it doesn't have height control

Are you sure that the rear shocks cost about 1.5 to 2 lacs if that is so then the problem is obvious

I was just describing the types of shocks.
Because the people who run the jeeps in rally, they opt very expensive shocks like ironman.

Anyway I just called Nishat Autos and they gave following rates for 2012 Model LC

Tokibo
Front Pair : 34,000
Rear Pair : 20,500

Toyota
Front Pair : 74,500
Rear Pair : 20,500

If you are from Lahore, I can share the number of Nishat autos.
(these rates are none-hydraullic shocks).

After putting the vehicle on ramp (or jacking up), look closely to the suspension springs. There will be total 4-springs. 1 sprint with each shock absorber.

Check closely the upperside & lower side of those spring that if you can see some sort of metal block or metal spacer, or rubbers or anything similar. If you find nothing, then it means the vehicle is on its original height and there is no any type of packing given to alter its height.

but if you see some metal block at the end of the spring (as shown in picture above), then it means the ex-owner has tried to lift up the vehicle by playing with its originality. usually these spacers are half to inch thick only.

I would inquire more into exactly what your mechanic did.

68k for a pair of shocks which should only cost 20.5k for the pair? Something obviously doesn't add up here.

Asalam O Alaikum everyone I am indebted to each and everyone of you. I took my car to a ramp today went underneath it the shocks were of some shady company the mechanic said they were faulty they aren't supposed to do that I called Toyota Walton they have rear shocks in stock inshallah this coming monday I'll replace them. Thank you so much to each and everyone of you for your time and efforts
