Below is the detailed Nishat / Hyundai launching dates and timelines in Pakistan.

As per plan Hyundai Assembly plant will be completed by 2019 and operation will be started in early 2020. Hyundai will launch Elantra by 2020.

They have to do 2 things
Introduce a 800cc car to compete against mehran at the same price point and price these cars sanely. If the kona is priced and 20 to 22 lakh and elantra at around 18 to 20 lakhs they will be an instant hit. Please correct me if I'm wrong but is the elantra meant to compete against 1.6 altis and aspire?

estimated price of elantra is expected to be max 19 lac top of line 1.6 yes it will compete against altis 1.6 and aspire 1.5.

If the elantra is priced at 19 and has features at least as good as my 2016 altis 1.6 i will have to consider selling the altis. Hyundai and kia are very rekiable now as in the US they are offering upto 10 year unlimited mileage warranty on engine.

exactly what i have heard from a pakwheel friend he told me mansha had two option either to give another option in market or lower the prices alot to break the existing market and that what he opted for.

Elantra is a C-segment sedan that makes it's size comparable to the likes of Corolla and Civic. Honda City and Yaris are smaller cars and compete with the Accent. This 1.6L Elantra is an excellent sedan with a very quiet cabin and those who have owned and driven it in the middle east and US would know what I'm talking about. If they price it right and adorn it with enough bells and whistles this could not only break the 1.6L Altis market but also give the Grande and Civic Oriel a run for it's money.
But it all depends on the price. Their main selling point in the international market is how they undercut their competitors in the pricing. I really hope it's the same in Pakistan.

hyundai kona has 1.6 engine and that only comes in Turbo world wide making 175hp and 195 torque and is fastest in compact crossover worldwide. lets hope it work good in our pathetic low quality petrol we have seen what it did to turbo engine as well as NA engines also.

A pakwheel member who has been in talk of hyundia dealership told me about elantra as i was interested in it only however kona also look quite promising and good and crossover have quite an edge these days will surely ask him in coming days.

the only 800cc car hyundai produces is the eon in india and our govt won't allow importing knocked down kits from there so no scene for that, paksuzuki also stopped alto production primarily because its production is now centered in india and other assembly facilities manufacturing alto import parts from there, only japan has a different alto variant.

Y would he would do so . We forget that they are here to earn money . Competiton is always better for consumers but lets not get our hopes too high . Mian mansha will like his profits to go sky rocketing rather than fulfilling desires of pakistani car users

LOL, Sir it's 1.6 Turbo engine not a NA engine. So expect price around somewhere near 26-27 lakh
