Wanna buy 40 Inch LED TV, should I go for sony, samsung, LG or Haier, orient, TCL?
Which one do you have? Please share your experience

i have sony & samsung sets over 3 year old. so far so good. only upgraded firmware twice

About 4 yrs with Samsung 40/42 inch....all good but now there are four white round spots on screen...doesnt disturb the view....not sure how can it be fixed

Brother I have 40" Samsung 5000 series LED since last 3 years, and fully satisfied with its performance (however, it may be noted that its use is very less).

I would fully recommend Samsung, however, if asked for priority, I would prioritize as follows:

1. Sony / Samsung
2. LG
3. TCL

Aur Buss!

Orient, Haier, etc. May be totally avoided. Even if budget is low, still, I think they aren't worth it. No offense / disrespect, but I have observed that their picture quality is poor.

Mate whatever you do in life stay away from haeir tcl and orient. They are very bad panels and have severe DSE (Dirty Screen Effect) google the term.

Buy a samsung unit. Save a little if you have to but stay away from these chinese knock offs. The real experience of using a tele is its OS and non of these have proprietary OS. Samsung or sony would last forever. If seen tons of tcl, haier and orient have a burn marks on panels in just 6 month to 1 year usage

I've had Sharp Aquos, Bravia, Samsung, great televisions. Now for other rooms I have purchased Changhong Ruba, Ecostar and TCL P8S.
The dirty screen effect is more than prevalent in Changhong, it is too severe when you do a test. Whereas Ecostar has fared well, but the color accuracy is bad, audio sucks on them both. Wouldn't purchase them again.
But TCL P8S with its HDR10+ has blown my mind, there is no DSE, watching uhd content on it is awesome and the smart interface is quite neat too. You'll have to see the quality to believe it. Before this purchase I had my doubts, but after watching LinusTechTips' video on budget tvs, I went for it and I've been pleasantly surprised. Can't speak for their other tvs, P8S is a winner for me. Give it a try brother.
Also TCL has made LCD TV modules for Samsung in the past and has been making phones for Blackberry since the last 4 years, it's the third largest tv manufacturer in the world and is unlike any other Chinese brand. You can trust it.

It has presence in other countries as well. I've seen TCL TVs in Canada, so I would guess it is much better than other Chinese brands.

I don't know about Multynet but I have Hisense in my room, its display is better than changhong, haier, ecostar. User-interface is better, sound is better but the build quality is just as bad as all of them. If I put a finger on it's screen and gently push, i can see it detaching from the bezel for like quarter a cm. Its not much, but still bad build quality.

Only use is USB, maximum 1 hour a day
No cable or HD streaming etc
Sharing my experience with sony, I had a Sony bravia 32 Inch, purchased back in 2012 for 40k
What happened, panel color went bad, color issues
Fortunately in last week of warranty, I got it repaired for free otherwise expense was 25K
From 2013-Jan 2020, no issues
In February 2020, it didn't turn on
Went to sony autorized center
2k charges for inspection, paid 500 advance 1500 pending
Received call from centre, "circuit/logic board ka masla h 24k lagay ga"
I said "Bhai apne pas rakh, parts nikaal k sale krr le 1500 poora kr lain" he said ok
And now I'm searching for new TV
Btw other than this, its colors, display overall and audio quality etc were awesome

Mate i understand where you are coming from but the thing is when i wanted to buy a 65 inch tele for my room i took some test videos in a hdd to all the stores in islamabad and saw how the tvs reacted to those 4k, 60fps content aswell as 30fps and 24fps....along with DSE effect TEST videos.

Why i did above? i bought a 7 series samsung TV which was an entry level tv and after 15 days of use i got to know about its DSE, fought a case with Samsung Pakistan and they refunded me my hard earned money after 6 months.....after getting the money i did the ABOVE...

Samsung pakistan in 2018/2019 sold defected VA Panels of series 7 teles tv all across pakistan. Samsung too only make good Teles on 8 series and above and now the Q range.

To my surprise when you play test content on TCL's first thing first it has a very laggy android OS as compared to SAMSUNG Tizen.

What i did after testing all the tele's was that i bought an 8 Series NU8000 tv...since then i have alhamdulillah praised nu8000 for gaming, watching netflix and all.

I have a bravia Internet LED in the lounge which is equally rubbish.

Anything china make is the largest manufacturer because their own local production is so massive it beats rest of the world.

Making a good tv panel is something but its OS to me is even more important, the TCL teles are seriously laggy at playing 4K content, and when i tested out the new P8S it was SO, SO bad.....I got a TCL 55inch P8S free from TCL to review on my youtube channel with already given script of great review which i DID NOT as they thought they can buy me off with just a tv and not paying anything so i gave away that tv since i have no space to put it (ofcourse not for free, i sold it).

Oh BTW play this video in full screen in your P8S, you will know what i mean by seriously bad DSE, make sure its in fullscreen and keep your eyes on the hockey player.

Look at the reviews of this tv, believe me the good ones are paid because they asked me the same. And the bad ones are so bad i feel sorry for the buyers

and TCL being sold in Americas (America & Canada) is Completely different to what is being sold in pakistan.

The two bad reviews on the website have damaged tvs which I believed got damaged while shipping. As for OS, it runs pretty smooth for me but uptil now I haven't viewed any 4k content on it through an HDD (only played thru youtube, netflix and popcorntime) I will try that. I will run this video on my tcl when I get the time, let me know what am I supposed to be looking for specifically? In my other chinese tv there are darker patches here and there.
Plus I didn't pay much for it, I play ps on it and watch netflix on it. I am thoroughly enjoying it, aur yaar mere jaisa banda jisne 21 inch ka lg flatron 20 saal ghaseeta hai ye uske lie nemat hai but yes, one should get their money's worth. I'll run this and update you with the results.
