Lesson for PakSuzuki

this can be considered as a "lesson to be learned" for PakSuzuki. they keep giving us old cars with same old designs, without any significant upgrade/ improvement in their exterior or interior or specs.. the only thing which goes up is the price which now have crossed the limit of ridiculousness. See below, wonder if something like this was done to our local Suzuki models, i strongly believe that if this was the case, PakSuzuki would be ruling the hearts of many... but!

the car has been redesigned by Changan since they are partners with Suzuki in china just like Maruti is in India.

Chang'an Suzuki is a joint venture between Chang'an Motors and Suzuki Motors in Chongqing, China. Chang'an began assembling inexpensive commercial trucks under license from Suzuki Motors in 1990. Shortly after, in 1992, the two companies formed Chang'an Suzuki to built licensed versions of the Suzuki Alto and Suzuki Cultus.

Bro, Paksuzuki is a shame for the whole nation. As I mentioned before nowhere in the world does suzuki provides such obsolete cars. I believe without any doubt, that Paksuzuki has one of the poorest quality control among all automakers in the world(if its not the poorest that is).

And I believe to a lesser extent, Toyota Indus is also plundering the public. The cuore[ancient gen Diahatsu Mira] we are still getting has been out of production everywhere since the mid 1990s. Not to mention the engine is even older than the chasis design!!. It is also worth mentioning that in other countries Toyota Corolla is offered with a Dual-VVTi everywhere now (not VVTi )

Since some people on PW have argued that people should not compare Paksuzuki with Maruti Suzuki because India is a bigger country bla bla...Lets compare Paksuzuki with Suzuki offerings in other less developed countries. DO NOT FORGET THAT BY PERCENTAGE SUZUKIS highest share in any market is in PAKISTAN..

Suzuki has failed to achieve any major market chunk in Car mkt in most countries, Pakistan is Suzuki’s biggest market and its major Cash cow. Very unfair indeed to dump obsolete vehicles in the country.

I do not understand why our Prime Minister and Minister for Industries are unable to note the Poor performance and lack of innovation in Pakistans auto industry despite high production numbers. They have repeatedly praised PakSuzuki and hailed the company as one with exceptional performance

PakSuzuki boasted some years back that it would make Pakistan an auto exporting hub and that would help Pakistans economy greatly. Yet in reality today PakSuzuki ‘s export aims that it presented was nothing but bluff. It is unable to make any major exports because PakSuzuki made cars do not meet International Quality, Safety and Emission standards!!

No seriously, China has been gifted with an aesthetic sense of a... toilet paper? They can make anything look ugly on their own right. Look what they’ve done to the Swift sedan. It is what happens when you hand over Automotive Industry to a bay-blade making country.

(No offence plz- everyone, everywhere is picking on Pakistan, so I thought why not our closest friends then?)

I mean I really appreciate these local car companies’ efforts. They have car assembling plants here, they employ thousands of people. They indirectly support a million. They pay part in local industrial stability and some tax maybe.
To me all local car assemblers (Suzuki, Toyota, Honda) are still better then import things and Mitsubishi and Nissan vendors who have been making fun of us lot and Pakistan's economy by selling a hand full of cars and then disappearing.

Look what damage we’ve done to our local industry. Maybe if we could just stick to local cars instead of imports. We could have made the car prices more stable today. Look it this way, if we buy more local cars, their cost per car comes down a little bit and thus making it cheaper to make for them and us.

Great info there. Ah well, I thank you mate coz it works out that its only Honda that gives us whatever they give to another bloke on the other side the equator with a funny accent.
And it should be coz Honda is an only Japanese auto company that has NOT been setup by some serious business men in killer suits, but by a keen jumper wearing engineer in the quest of his dreams. And Honda worldwide is basically a non profit based company with research and technological innovation motive.

How do you think they would know when they get to ride and get their big fat ugly a$$es carried along in imported luxury vehicles funded by the tax payers' money? and even if they know a thing or two about cars or their quality (or anything else for that matter), which I highly doubt owing to the fact that most of them are illiterate ignorant scabs hailing from hick-towns, they are getting their cut and kickbacks, so why on earth should they bother just about anything?

As for paksuzuki dreaming about exporting their crap to other countries, so I highly doubt that even the cash strapped and draught stricken countries like somalia would commit themselves to such an absurd arrangement.. what a joke, LoL! paksuzuki exporting vehicles...right..

i guess some people have misinterpreted the purpose of this thread. I never said this should come to Pakistan, in fact this is an example of how you 'can' improve an obsolete thing according to the current standards. I feel extremely sorry to say that we still get 20 year old car designs with same engine, features & even low quality with double the price.. Mehran, Alto, Cultus and Cuore are the examples. Cars like Cuore, Mehran & Alto doesn't even come with rear windshield defrosters and no proper retract side mirrors, forget about the carby engine.. still we pay more than 700 thousand for a car like cuore... these cars haven't gone through any major upgrade in their specs or looks since more than a decade.. the car in discussion, the Lingyang may not be an eye-candy but its not that ugly. The things which i like about this Lingyang are:

1. Presence of Wrap-around headlamps.. even today cultus rolled out by Paksuzuki comes without modern wrap around headlamps.
2. Proper one piece bumpers (front & rear) replaced with the old 2 piece bumper design of Margalla, equipped with FF fog lamps!
3. Huge improvement in the interior, a 4 spoke steering wheel with button controls!
4. Traditional ventilator control sliders replaced with radial knobs.
5. A two tone color combination interior.
6. Presence of driver & passenger side airbags (how many of local cars offer driver & passenger air bag?)
7. Optional Sunroof

though the rear could have been better but still its a lot more already done than what Paksuzuki has never ever tried to..

An all aluminum 1.3 liter, 16 valves, in-line, water-cooled, four strokes, multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection engine of G series, which is the most advanced engine of Japanese Isuzu Company. Output power is 85hp, as good as other cars of 1.6L. The maximum speed is 170 kilometers per hour. Accelerating time from 0 to 100 kilometers is less than 15S. Fuel consumption per 100 kilometers under a constant speed of 60 kilometers per hour is only 4.8L, which makes it the most economical car in China.

Equipped with the intelligent one touch power sunroof imported from Germany and dark green crystal glass, which is heat isolated and ultraviolet ray prevented and thus 99.9% UV and 96% heat energy can be blocked off effectively. The sunroof design and the inner trim of the roof are integrated naturally. It looks good, harmonizing and is handled freely. Three special function are as follows: one touch or continuous press button offers the two options of automatic and manual open and close function; safety function of anti-nip; automatic close while the engine failure.
