Low top Speed indus corolla xe

Guys my car is indus 96 with 1.3 xe 2e engine, has 3lakh km on odo, car is good on cng, does 100km with ac on 8kg cng and 6km/l with ac on petrol, both city averages. The problem im facing is of top speed, it can't get it to get over 110km/h without ac on petrol nor cng, can anybody guide me what could be the issue? or is it normal for this car? on fifth gear, it does 100km/h on 3000rpm

300k Kms is an impressive mileage. Is it still running on its original engine?

I had a 96 xe that I sold 5 years ago. It had done in excess of 140k Kms I think. It was never really a quick car but on petrol I could stretch it to 125-130 on motorway. The carby engine this model had was from early 1980s if I am not wrong.

yes 2E start coming in corolla from EE80, then EE90 and EE100. way underpower for EE90 and EE100 chassis.

It was a good car but the engine didn't last me long. Its performance went downhill when I converted it to CNG in 2006. Was never the same again despite going to so many so-called CNG experts. Had to get the engine rebuilt eventually.

yes its original and yet unbuilt, what top speed did you get from it?

When the car was less than 10 years old, I once pushed it briefly to 140. In the years before I sold it, I don't remember pushing it beyond 125. It could've gone above that but I try to drive within speed limits. What I do remember is that crossing 120 on CNG was hard work.

There was a time when it wouldn't go beyond 100. I recall getting my timing checked. I think that improved it. Before I got my engine rebuilt there was considerable loss of compression and performance. You may want to look into that. Have you maintained it as per schedule?

I bought it a year back, had regular oil changes and maintenance, fixed whatever and whenever found issues with, i feel the engine should do 150 on petrol minimum, my cultus 2007 which was carby did 140 on petrol, how do you check if my engine is weak? all mechanics say thats its still perfect, no white smoke or anything

yaar kafi baar tune ups krwae hain, i need something concrete k krwau aur thek hojae, mostly mechanics tukay maar maar k maslay tk puhanchte hain, tbtk hazar ka kaam dus hazar ka par jata hai lol

Bro that is a horrible mileage on both patrol and cng.... What I can see is that your car's engine timing is out and thats the reason of low top speed and bad average. Better get it adjusted with a timing gun

i am thinking of swapping per not sure about the total cost, upar se koe sahi swap karne wala banda b milna chahiye karachi main, gari ki resale per b farak parta hai is option per sochna par jata hai

Cultus Carby has 52 HP, way lighter body to pull vs 70ish hp of 2e (for comparison, efi cultus has 60 HP).

DId you check other factors such as tyres and rims (size, pressure, condition, balancing), wheel bearings, alignment and cv joints, parasitic loads (powersteering pump, alternator bearings)? friction can adversely affect top speed without being obvious.

yes got the suspension checked, its in fine condition, got thr tires changed just 2 weeks ago 175/65/r15 general brand new, every thing is well kept, its the engine i feel because at 100 on fifth gear, when i try to push it above 3k rpm, the sound changes drastically, like the car is screaming for me to stop throttling anymore

we are planning to visit quetta 2nd day of eid so just went today on highway to test the ride and couldnt get it to cross 105 on petrol, the average on petrol without ac on highway was around 10km/l aswell which is also a concern but one thing at a time

Again you have wrong tire size. This car came originally with 13 inch wheels. Also service carburettor and check if clutch pressure needs replacement. It will surely benefit your car. 175/70/13 was i guess its stock size.

i has the same factory stock size, wasnt satisfied with the grip and handling, after changing it to 175/65/r15 the car feels alot lighter, easy to handle and with a better grip. with those tires too the car wouldn't go beyond 110 so i dont think that's the issue

Wrong tire size can effect fuel economy.

Guess finally figured out the issue, it was the engine that was the problem, it went bad today, chalte chalte saari seals phat gai, silencer per oil gir gea pura and engine bay smoke se bhar gea, i checked the water two days ago so that cant be the issue, and oil bhi 1 week pehle change kiya tha with filter, mechanic quoted around 35k to rebuild the engine, i don't want to swap it, he said the engine will be good after the rebuild and both the speed and average will increase, what do you suggest?
