i think every1 mentions lpg average per kg n not per litre like the case wid cng which doesnt has the option for per litre though lol @isbcap

use lpg in summers n shift back to cng in winters
btw price of lpg in winters was 160rs per kg atleast when i got it filled

Well, he has a DB15 engine according to him, some are fuel efficient, others are not. Just the way a Civic will return less mileage when compared to a Cultus on CNG
I don't know much about these engines, so I cannot comment on that. But, say that he did get 9km/l on petrol, that is good. So, 18km/kg is believable

That engine could be an EFI one or one of these;
JDM D15B non-VTEC came both fuel injected and with dual carbs - here are some of the models they came in - i am sure that this isn't everything:

fuel injected model:

105ps @ 6400 rpm, 13.6kg/m @ 4500 torque, comp. ratio 9.4:1, came in 96-99 Civic Ferio ML 4-door, 96-99 Civic Ferio Mi 4-door and 96-99 Civic Ri hatch

dual carb model came in three versions:

91ps @ 6000 rpm, 12.1kg/m @ 4000 rpm, comp. ratio 9.2:1, came in 88-91 Civic 35M 4-door and 88-91 Civic 35U 4-door

100ps @ 6300 rpm, 12.8kg/m @4500 torque, comp. ratio 9.2:1, came in 88-91 Civic 25X hatch with auto trans, 88-91 Civic 55X 5-door Shuttle, 88-91 CRX 1.5X with auto trans. and 92-95 Civic MX hatch

I remember my grandpa used to drive his cars on LPG about 30 years ago. At that time, there was not a single LPG station in Pakistan. LPG cylinders were swapped with pre filled cylinders. He never complained about any sort of issue with this gas. LPG was extremely cheap back then. Now, as most of us know that our government is one of the most pathetic government in the world and they are not going to find new natural gas reserves or produce it from coal (they are no even going to fix the electric load shedding issue in coming 5 years), at least Government should promote LPG sector and made it affordable for most people. Selling it above 100 rupees per kg is not economical at all. Setting it prices around 60-80 rupees per kg will help relieving the consumers.

LPG's per liter average is less than petrol, but the saving is from the price. In very well tuned car the vehicle will return 80-85% of the petrol's average.

current price i guess is 106 as the guy who tested mentioned it but thats 106 per kg which means 53rs per litre.
use per kg figures n then take out rs/kg figure, u wont b getting per litre lpg in islamabad unless u go to lpg filling station

waise if u wanna compare the cost with petrol
then 108rs/9km= 12rs/km
lpg 106kg/2 = 53rs per litre n if it gives 85% average then = 7.65km per litre
now 53rs/7.65km= 6.92rs/km
still saving of 5rs/km
though mostly people say lpg gives almost same average as that of petrol as people have mentioned full tank average of petrol n lpg both, they were almost same

lpg will be good only in summers but thats also some 3-4 months

guys I made mistake in my last mileage stats yesterday. I thought I have consumed hole LPG cylinder but actually there were 4Kgs left in cylinder. When I took cylinder for refilling, the LPG shop guy told me after weighing that there is 4Kg gas in the cylinder. He told me you have to put cylinder upside down to extract that left over 4Kg. The LPG guy pumped hardly 11Kg in my cylinder.

So my New stats are as below

Mileage: 280km for 11kg LPG... cost of Gas 106/Kg x 11Kg = 1166/-.... 280km/11kg = 25.45 km per Kg.....
Cost Per Km: Rs.1166/280Km = 4.16 Rupees per Km

Furthermore there are people who are pumping LPG right into CNG cylinder (means no mod at all). CNG cylinder is strong enough to hold upto 40KG gas. sufficient for Islamabad-Lahore-Islamabad round trip. One of my friend will be experimenting next week,I will update his stats too. The draw back of pumping LPG into CNG cylinder is you cant extract all LPG out of cylinder as it is in Liquid form, so all the time CNG cylinder will keep holding 4Kg(at least) which you cant use.
Second draw back is, pumped LPG cost you 15/Kg extra...
15Kg/Cylinder costs 1600/ ,mean 106/Kg, while pumped LPG cost you 120/KG. you have to put cylinder upside down to extract all LPG....

There is a shop in Islamabad who pumps LPG into CNG cylinder.

What I tell you from my experience is buying a LPG kit is wastage of money, just use your existing CNG kit for LPG. you can even use the same cylinder.

n how about if i just use lpg domestic cylinder in car like u did with some kind of switch by which i can easily switch between cng n lpg?

@azhar_isb, that is a new thing for me which you have mentioned. I have been using LPG in my village home for cooking and using LPG cylinders and I have never faced this issue. The cylinder empties fully and then I get it refilled.

I started cursing the vendor " Kaminay nay kam gas dali hay bla bla ", then an idea popped into my head, " Why not turn it upside down? " I did and it ran for about 50 minutes after that as well

The calculation is usually 1.89-2.0L=1 KG of LPG.
You need the density, which itself can vary depending on conditions.

Some examples; butane is approximately 0.505 kg/L and propane is about 0.575 kg/L.
Now, we learned this in school, if I can remember correctly, in winters, they mix 40% Butane and 60% Propane ( could be the other way round ). Not sure if they know how to do the mix in Pakistan, hence mechanics will tell you that LPG freezes in the winter, again, because of wrong calculations when mixing it.

Yeah, why not? All I had to do was to adjust the screw on the Gas Kit and it works perfectly.

Shop in Tarlai. I heard about one in G-11 but not sure.
Yes 4Kg will always stays in cylinder as LPG has low pressure, so you have to put cylinder upside down to get that remaining (4Kg) out of cylinder.

No you don't. just get 11kg pumped in the same cylinder. (you will have 11Kg usable all the time).

If you opt to go back to CNG, you just need to get your cylinder removed and LPG guys will get the LPG out of cylinder. no big deal.

Remaining 4Kg doesn't cost extra Rs 15 per KG. Actually that 4kg (for my 15Kg cylinder) remains in cylinder. so if I get LPG refilled in same cylinder from LPG shop (using pump) I will need 11Kg of gas. If you buy LPG using pump you have to pay Rs.15/per Kg extra. If you get a cylinder replacement for empty cylinder, the cost becomes 106/ Kg.
Rs.15 / Kg is LPG shop service charges in other words.

May be 2kg remains in small cylinder(11Kg version) or you have to put cylinder in trunk in a way that valve of cylinder goes down so that more LPG gets to valve.

I got the 11 Kg pumped in Lahore @ 105/Kg, while company rate is Rs.90/Kg there.

This is what i am doing right now but CNG cylinder un-coupled. LPG valve and LPG pipe cant bear 200Bar pressure, those r designed for 5bar. I have 15Kg domestic LPG cylinder.... currently I am just testing LPG... So far so good. If I get same mileage on my next trip, I might opt to get LPG pumped in my CNG cylinder...
