Hi Guys,

Can someone tell me where can I get LPG installed in Islamabad and what about the old cylinder, can it be used for LPG or do I need another cylinder? I read in one post that the cost of installation was around 25k. does this include cylinder cost? thanks.

Zia, lets say i keep my setup as tha of cng, how will i get to pump lpg in cng through nozzle? There are just local shops here who have nozzles as that of lpg cylinders not cng ones...

Secondly how is quantity of lpg measured if we are pumping in cng cylinder? Cant take it out to weight it neither they have some meter so how?

Also lets see what avg azhar gets in isb driving. And i also dont think 4 kgs are left inside

do they weigh the cylinder to check how much is filled inside?
i think they'll just attach the nozzle to same pipe from where cng is filled, @azhar_isb mentioned that there is some pump in tarlai who fills lpg in cng cylinder n he isnt sure if G11 one does too

no need, just go n fill lpg in same cng cylinder once its finished

Yes brother, I'm using CNG cylinder for LPG.

Sir per liter price is Rs 51 in Lahore.

here's the average a friend got in his 3.0L Pajero 1994 in local (quoting from another thread)

10kg LPG ran for 150km within city and the jeep must have stood for about 2 hours with AC on after all tune ups.

I meant to say 60-80 rupees per kg. Still 51 rupees per liter of LPG is good enough in current economic situation if car gives mileage equivalent to 1 liter petrol. That's less than half the price of petrol. Now, I can understand why CNG rickshaw walas use LPG when CNG is not available. Also, they get LPG filled in the same CNG cylinder.

Just sharing my experience:
Last time in March, I visited Suzuki 3S workshop and there an APV came for service of CNG setup. The owner was telling that he was using LPG in cylinders the whole winter. But now that APV had got some problem with CNG kit and blah blah due to the constant drive on LPG. The workshop owner was quoting 25 to 30 thousand rupees for repair. I know very well that these kind of workshops charge double or triple for their work. But what in the first place went wrong with the van for driving on LPG? I didn't bother to interrogate about it as I was not interested in it. But in my opinion, LPG is perfectly safe to use. It was just his bad luck that this happened to him.

Well we obviously dont know what bad effects it can cause on engine... lpg is used widely and safely but not in cng kit which is why am reluctant.

They usually have those tall 5' Cylinders, they contain approx. 55 KG LPG inside them.

Faisalabad. There are 5 LPG vendors in a 200 Meter Radius from my house. 1 fills in Hiaces. InshAllah, when I finish work, I'll make a video, explaining the procedure. This Nozzle is no Rocket science

I'll be traveling to Islamabad soon, within 2-3 weeks. Will visit Tesla, IF they can install LPG without cutting genuine wiring in my car, a Swift, I will be more than happy to install it. I just don't want to ruin my warranty, you know Suzuki's, Jab Marzi Panga Daalti Hain

These LPG filling guys have now installed nozzles just like cng to pump in LPG. and they put the big cylinder in inverse position on the weigh machine, as the weight decreases in cylinder the value on weigh machine come like -5, -6, -10 kg.

Asalam-O-Alaikum! Very informative listing so far. I can not comment on the usage of LPG on the CNG kit&cylinder as I was advised strongly against it by my mechanic. Anyway, I got my Alto VXR 2007 factory fitted CNG converted to LPG altogether this weekend =) Hurray!!! What I got in return is one thing that matters the most....... NO MORE CNG QUEUES!!!! PEACE OF MIND, PRICELESS. Now i pity seeing vehicles parked for CNG overnight. Will keep posting issues/comments later.

went to a lpg shop in G11
n damn lpg cant be relied upon,its rate keeps fluctuating, price per kg is 130rs, i asked him that i was told its 120rs, he said it even came down to 110 now its back upto 130 :o
though like @Azhar_isb he did said that if u buy a company's pre filled cylinder then u'll get 15kg cylinder for 1600rs which means 106rs per kg...bring ur empty cylinder n take the pre filled one
in that case one can just shift it himself like @faiz.aslam.121 mentioned, get a pump n transfer from cylinder to ur own cylinder in car

15kg cylinder alone was for 4k n then the company filled lpg for 1600 per 15kg

i asked him if they fill in cng cylinder, he said they dont n nor they know any1 who fills it in car

so there goes the experiment or just fill lpg cylinder n attach with cng pipe

any adverse effects on engine with using lpg with cng kit? just wondering there should be a reason why lpg kit exists...

CNG kit might get damaged by LPG over the long run. People who are now using LPG in their car with CNG setup can comment better after using it for few months. Engine wear out level will remain the same for both CNG and LPG in my opinion.

Hi guys!
I finally got video made, sorry for my bad choice of words + I stutter :/, my phone's flash doesn't turn on after 14% battery left and I had like 18% left.
They weren't allowing me to record, since it's kinda illegal and they thought that I was gonna snitch ( Owner is like an uncle to me, but not the workers, the have a rotating rota ). Spent half an hour convincing them, no luck. Ended up calling my Uncle who accompanied me (H) and he had a Ciggie lit and that was not cool of him.
