Anyone who is using Guard oil? Every second person I know is using Guard filters, but users of Guard oil are very few. Why Guard oil is not popular despite of its claim of fully synthetic and being cheapest in market, and with nationwide presence in Metros and CSDs?

I have a 15 model every turbo. 5w30 is recommended from Suzuki Japan. Don't listen to locals and put 10w40. You don't need thick oil unless your engine is on its last legs. Engine oil service interval is 5,000 Kms for na engine, and 2500kms for turbo. I am doing 3500 Kms. Use good quality genuin leppon or guard filters. 932 filter for leppon,
Gdo-158 for guard.

Suzuki ecstar is what you need for coolant. Service interval is 8 yrs/150k Kms.

Not much for fuel. You can use injector cleaner once in a while if you want.

Stay away from desi ustaads as much as possible and it will service you well. Change the air filter and do your oil changes on time, use coolant and not water.

I bought a toyota altis 2017 in jan this year, it had 58k on ODO Meter. Ex owner told me that he used shell 0-20 , but somehow i ended up using liqoumolly 10-40.Now i hav driven upto 65k, now i want recommendations that which oil should i use , shud i continuou with liqoumolly 10-40 or change it

Use 5w30 and see if engine doesn't reduce oil then keep using it.

My question is how we can know the right oil to be used in our car?

I have mira 2012 model, approx running 135000 KM, as per chart in car door we need to use

0W-20 OR 05W-30

but when i go to shop one per is saying as engisne is old so we neet to use 20W50 as above two are too thin as per our envirement
and other shopw owern is saying we need to use 10W-30
i am in karchi, so how can we know the right engine oil, too much confused? Every body is giving their own advice?

Always follow what the company recommends. The engineers who made that engine know better then some mechanics.

Yes the mechanics here simply DO NOT KNOW what the heck they are doing.

Use what your vehicles owners manual recommends. Do not listen to these desi ustaads. You will be replacing your engine in the future if you do.

My Suzuki every, when I first moved here, everyone said 10w40. Engine would make 'tick tick' when cold start. When I researched, Japan Suzuki (from my owners manual) says only 5w30 for this engine.

When I changed to 5w30, then engine is nice and quiet and smooth.

sir senior most contributing members recommend 0W-20 or 5W-20 / 5W-30 engine oil for every JDM vehicle be it hybrid or a petrol engine. in karachi you can call jamil autos irshad ahmed at 0300 2237538 for better guidance.

Hi peers,
so i am using vitz 2012 since 2 years and using 5w-30 , i have been pouring in 3L oil but read somewhere its more than 3 litre recently .. please advise whats the right gauge and should be used and whether 3L would have done any damage to the engine ?
also i drove it for more than 5k on last oil change the oil levels had fallen down when i changed new oil .

I recently changed engine oil and airfilter of my grande 1.8 ran 12k KM

I went to toyota ravi motors
Cost me 12k just for oil filter (3.2k) and engine oil
And air filter price was 6k (which is not get replaced)

Now i am agreed that they scammed me

I want to know that is Guard air and oil filter will do the job ?
And i saw same oil toyota 5w50 4L cost only 4k on daraz which i bought in 8.5k

Should i buy that or go for other recommended oils ?

When I was in PK, I used 5w30 in both my 1.6 AT and 1.8 Grande. I was quite satisfied with Total Quartz 5w30, It used to return good economy but it was only good till 6000KM.

Recently my friend using HX7 Plus (API SP, ACEA A3/B4) Its really good and highly specs oil, I would recommend that.
If you still want to use 5w50 then buy it from some reputable outlet. This oil did gave me good fuel economy but drive always felt heavy.

Filter is really important, never comprised on that, I would suggest by OEM filter and get it changed from outside. Parts Central also use to be good back then, I used them for OEM parts in past.

Shell 5w30 and genuine oil and air filters are the best choice for a grande, been using that and I’m getting good fuel efficiency and performance. No experience with guard oils and filters.
