Interesting. Where did you find this? One of the few reasons I'm not using Guard oils is because of the lack of specs. I do believe they're getting their oil from Korea, which means Gp3 VHVI from a Korean blender like GS or SK Lubricants.

Shell HX7 Plus 5W-30, Caltex ProDS Eco 5W-30, ZIC X7 FE 0W-30, Idemitsu IGF 5 5W-30, Mobil1 5W-30, Total Quartz Future 5W-30, PSO Carient Ultra 5W-30, TGMO 5W-30, seriously any 5W-30 oil will do just fine. Get a Toyota compatible oil filter from Guard or ViC or whatever at a good oil place, Rs. 3,200 for an oil filter is a damn ripoff. Run full synthetics for 8,000km, conventional oils for a little less than that. Don't give that poor engine 5W-50.

Your oil change will last the normal duration the manufacturer recommends and will be less than the cost you've just paid.

You paid Rs. 12,000 for an oil filter and engine oil. I purchased 4 liters of Mobil1 FS X2 5W-50 full synthetic for the same price, which is definitely a much higher quality oil than any Taglon whatever that Toyota has. In fact, I could purchase AMSOIL Signature 5W-30 for not much more than that, and that is an excellent oil and completely unnecessary for my application.

If I were you, I'd get 4 liters of Mobil1 TAP+ 5W-30, a good quality filter, and forget about it for 10,000km.

Do NOT buy Guard oil filter.

Only use genuine/OEM oil filter, try to source it from some other shop where you trust its authenticity as dealerships sell it for a very high price.

For AIR filter n cabin filter you can go for third parties like Guard etc.

Also use any fully synthetic 0w20 or 5w30 oil.

I’m using Toyota genuine motor oil / tgmo 0w20 its cheap from the dealership itself so authentic and very good API SP oil.

Havoline is also good.

I personally avoid Total and Zic oils.

For the next oil change I’d suggest you go 0w20 either tgmo or Mobil (much more expensive unnecessarily) for even better results. Tgmo is not any inferior to Mobil and cheaper so I use it personally.

I like how my car drives on 0w20, used all over the world for 1.8 Toyotas.

I asked them to email me, few of there oils listed on daraz have there PDS in description too, if they aren't putting enough additives , it doesn't matter from where they are getting the base oil.

They are no more importing the oil. They are now blending their fully synthetic oils here in Pakistan.

I also ordered 0W-20. Product name is Carient S-PRO which have API SP. Opticore is the technology.

They look close to Caltex oils. In addition to that, both Havoline ProDS and Carient S-PRO have Dexos1 approval.

My car manual says 0w-20 and 5w-30 both can be used. I’ve used 5w-30 for the past 3+ years. Is 0w-20 better? It is more expensive but is it better? Also is it okay to switch from 5w-30 to 0w-20?

If you do a lot of short trips, you will see a noticeable better fuel economy with 0W-20. Otherwise, 5W-30 is also ok.
You can safely switch to 0W-20 as long the engine doesn't reduce oil.

Thanks for the knowledgeable advice. What’s your take on using Guard Oil Filter and Air Filter. I’ve read a thread that on PakWheels that guard filters are better than imported leppon.

If you can afford, better stick with OEM filters due to their better filtration, and you can safely use them with synthetic oils with long drain intervals. We buy expensive synthetic oils which can easily last 6 months or 8,000 km in severe conditions. But in order to make those long drain intervals work safely, you need a quality oil filter.

OEM filters are always expensive no matter which vehicle you choose. The reason for that is OE parts have quality standards defined by the automaker which the vendor must meet. Parts from the vendor are tested by the QA automotive engineers before they are accepted to get OE stamp. The only concern I have with aftermarket filters is we don't know how well they can filter. This could be only tested in a controlled environment. The only thing we can judge is the quality and finishing of the filt…

That was in old days when Suzuki had old gen vehicles like Mehran, old Cultus, etc. For all the new models, they are importing filters.

Alto 660cc oil filter is made in Japan
WagonR oil filter is made in Indonesia
etc

Similarly, I buy an OEM filter for my Honda, and it's made in Thailand.

I am sharing this video just to give you a glimpse of filter testing. You will be blown away how complicated it's.
It's not like cutting the filter and seeing the inner details. That tells nothing about the filtration part, which is the most important aspect.
