Can i use 4 litre insted of 4.2 or ill have to buy one litre can extra?

There are folks on this forum using 4 liters instead of 4.2.

Here's an example

Altis 1.6 2018, engine oil capacity- is 4 litres enough?

I upgraded from gli to altis 1.6 and poured 4 litres of total quartz 5w-30, I just saw that altis with oil filter replacement requires 4.2 litres of oil, have been driving the car for 2 days. Should I get more oil to put or 4 litres is also fine?

as mentioned above, approx 200 - 300 ml is additionally required "only" when oil filter is also changed.

So what's the take on guard oil filters today? Are they good or bad? Any recent testing anyone has done to prove their point or should we go for some other brand?

Also, what about guard brake oil? If not, other options locally available?

Brake fluid is ok. I am using guard dot 4 for past 1 month. Usually brake fluids do not cause any problem as long as it's authentic

I have a 2018 Corolla xli automatic driven 38k km and I am going to replace the spark plugs soon but I was also thinking about changing its trans fluid because I herd was that it should be replaced every 40k km.Can anyone help me that should I replace it at 40k or 80k and it’s filter.

Better change it every 40k

Is there a dipstick to check fluid condition? That way you can assess and make the decision as required.

Assalam o alaikum, I have toyota corolla gli 2013 model, recently i have used kixx 10w40 engine oil now its time to change it again kindly suggest for which oil and grade i will go now, my car is driven 45000KM ODO cuz its rarely used in my house but now i have start using it,

Read the owners manual & most likely, you don’t have it.. so download it from internet. I think you should not exceed more than 10w40.

Salam I have fortuner 2.8 2022 drivin 50k using Toyta 10w 30 but now want to move 10w 40 or 5w 40 plz suggest any good oil which last for 7 t 8k km

Why do you want to move to thicker grade?

I don't think 5w-20 would be suitable for such an old engine.

However, I used Total 5w-30 for good 3 years & 60k kms in my 7afe corolla 1994. The engine was in good health & swapped into the car by me.

The oil change interval was 5k kms & it used to reduce 300~400 ML oil after 4k kms mark.

Toyta recommend to use 10w 40 after 70k so I want to go for some synthetic good oil as I think Toyta doesn’t have synthetic

If your engine is running fine, i.e. it's not reducing engine oil, you shouldn't switch the grade. Why try to fix something that's not broken?

This idea of moving to thicker grade for high mileage engine is an obsolete concept. It's not applicable to modern engines. Do some research before you blindly follow mechanics to avoid any hassle in the future.

5W-30 or 10W-30 are good grade for you. Use whichever is available. Brand is not that important as long as you are using correct grade

Basically I want more milage so they say use this grade now I am change at 5k I want some some more at least 7k or 8k km
