You are misinformed. A higher/thicker grade will do nothing but use more fuel and cause more wear on your engine. Just because you use a thicker oil doesn't mean you can increase the drain interval.

Go for 5w30.

To improve fuel economy, choose 5W-30 grade.
Try to find this grade in fully synthetic form to increase your drain intervals. Fully synthetic oils can last up to 8000 km or 6 months whichever comes first in severe conditions.

Make sure you find API CF for compatibility with diesel engine. I am not sure which brands offer spec. Maybe someone else could help you on this

Yes.There is a dipstick and I have checked it and it is not bright pink or dark pink or black it is in middle.

Brother just change the ATF fluid. It will cost you pennies when compared to transmission replacement.

If it's brown in colour or dark red, there still may be time. I would do a fluid exchange to see if it helps. Also, are there any codes stored or lights on the dash? If there is a mechanical fault, then a fluid change may or may not help and may need further diagnosis.

Shell HX7 (A3/B4) and Mobil1 TAP(A5/B5) are the only available option locally with A/B rating, shell can be used till 8k and Mobil1 TAP can be used for atleast 10k provided that he is using geniune filter.

API CF is outdated and obsolete, it is not recommended for newer Diesel engines, I don't know why Toyota still has it there in the user manual.

I was also confused between Mobil, LM & Shell, I was very close to choosing Mobil TAP but only thing that pulled me back was they're entirely not diesel specific engine oils. I went with Amsoil 5W30 Diesel Max since it was the only oil available with similar ratings and being a diesel specific synthetic engine oil.

Please don't do that. There's plenty of evidence all over the internet that extended drain intervals are a stupid idea and only cause wear on your motor.

The car companies only have to cover their warranty period, then, the rest is on the owner if anything fails.

Western countries are usually easier on vehicles. Vehicles in Pak would fall under the 'severe condition' which usually requires more frequent oil changes and maintenance anyways. I understand people want to save money, I do too. However, it makes no sense if you have to rebuild your engine down the road just because of improper maintenance.

Just look up lifetime transmission fluid to find out. 'Lifetime' for a car manufacturer is usually 100,000 miles or so. No fluid can last forever.

Im using it and all the ratings match with what is required for 1GD. Amsoil's claim is 25k but I don't think I will risk it, I will probably change after 10k milage depending up on the performance and how much oil is left

I use total 9000 5w30 in my 2015 Suzuki every. The manufacturer recommends oil changes at 2500km in town driving, and 5000 km for long driving.

I changed at 3500-4000kms.

For my 2006 pajero, I use delo gold 15w40. Mitsubishi change interval is 15,000 Kms for normal use, and 7500 km for severe conditions. Since Pakistan is severe conditions, I change at 7500 Kms.

My point is, go by the interval your car's manufacturer is suggesting. Not the oil company.

Suzuki recommends 5w30 in the owners manual. The G10B engine doesn't like thick oils. You'll be fine with either mineral or synthetic oil.

8th Gen Civic oil change time. Changed ZIC X7 FE 0W-30 at 8,000km. 3.7L came out of the sump and oil filter.

Poured in 4L Mobil 1™ Triple Action Power 5W-30 (API SP, ACEA A5/B5). Replaced Honda Mahle Tennex oil filter. 9.2 TBN, 3.0 HTHS, 61 cSt 40C, 10.3 cSt 100C, 157 VI, 0.76% SAPS.

I'll probably run this oil for 8,000km, even though I was planning on 10,000km, after reading the specs. Other 5W-30 oils are similarly performant (or even ACEA A3/B4) and much cheaper.

5W-30 is the recommended grade for old cultus. Check owner's manual
