sirs! after recent transmission work in Hi-Jet van the owner changed engine oil to Shell 5W-30,
as per his observation the net total change in the fuel consumption is over 13 kms+ per 30 liters of fuel. (350+13)

my comment was that's all because of transmission restored to specs and correct fluid and correct engine oil. earlier he was not aware of engine oil specs changed by service station.

Which Engine oil should I use on Toyota Fielder Hybird 2014, 130000 KM ODO. I have been using 0w-20 Synthetic past 5 years; recently I have replace 0w-20 with SN/CF 10w-30 for last two engine oil changes- 12000 KM.

I feel engine is dragging some more power, fuel average has also reduced. Will it be harmful for engine if I go back to OW-20 engine oil.?

Switch back to 0w20, 0w30, or 5w30. These grades are available in fully synthetic, 5w30 you can find both full and semi synthetic.

2 oil changes wouldn't have caused any issue, don't go for engine flush. Just get the appropriate grade in the system, it'll dilute and remove any residue gradually itself.

Brand wise, as long as you get original oil any reputed brand is fine.

If it doesn't burn oil then switch back to 0w20.

0W-20 is the only correct grade for hybrids. Some hybrids even require 0W-16 and 0W-8.
Many hybrid owner manuals don't give range of grades to choose from. It's just one grade and you have to stick with it.

Choose the cheapest fully synthetic 0W-20 API SP option available. Brand doesn't matter as long as you do the oil changes on time. Instead spend that money on oem oil filter and air filter.

I have bought Honda City 2010 which travelled 142000 km. Which engine oil is recommended for it? Previous owner was using Motul 10w40 fully synthetic. Moreover, please suggest a good mechanic in Lahore for tuning. This is my first car, so do not have idea. Kindly guide.

Owners manual recommends 0w20 or 5w30. In your case since it's been on 20w50 for a long time. Downgrade to 10w40 and if it doesn't burn a lot of oil keep using that grade. I would go for synthetic but mineral works fine too.

As such gari me enigne blow nahi hai but i suspect there's a leakage somwhere or maybe the engine is burning some oil, not sure yet. keeping this in mind...
konsi company ka aap suggest krte hain? Synthetic me 20w50? ya Synthetic 10w40?

Check for oil leaks and rev the engine up to see if it burns any oil. You would see white smoke if it does. In Pakistan synthetic 50 grade oils are rare and expensive if available. Reputable companies like ZIC, Havoline, Shell, Total are fine. You'll find 5w40 easier than 10w40.
