Ok i get it. According to you honda genuine oil is same as total quartz. According to you. Then quartz 0w-20 must also be idemitsu formulation as written on honda's packaging. I know what i know, and you can keep on believing what you believe. Agree to disagree.. There's no proof of quartz being the same as honda genuine so i can't believe it unless i see that proof.

In my opinion and as per logic, bad quality of fuel has to do something with the choking of Catalytic Converter, not the engine oil,

Moving engine parts create pressure in sump also piston rings dont seal 100% a lot gets passed from combustion chamber to sump and engine does vapourize as well because of operating temps

All this needs to be taken care off otherwise oil will oxidize and tear seals (leak out) thus every engine has a oil breathing system (on tappet cover) vaccum created in intake manifold breathes oil vapour and burns that with fuel too

And thus if your engine oil is zddp rich, your cat con wont like ot

Funny to see the expensive oil users rating their oils on ‘feel’.
All they have to back is , Feels great, sounds great, looks great.

You do not need a lot of education before starting to make unbiased comparisons.

A dear one works at Total Parco. Shared with me a lab report of Total 5w30 after being driven 12000kms with interpretation of results by a chemical engineer not ‘mama ustaad’.

The viscosity was good even at that mileage.

Hence we just follow
or believe the marketing media of these oil companies & their widely spread rumors about life/quality of oils.

other than marketing we check the oil with fingers n decide if its good or not
smell it and decides if its fake or not
we have human technology which we think is better than lab tests

i am not an oil expert ... but Vezel is best to judge the quality of oils. The total quartz 0w20 made the engine really rough once the car crossed 3k mark and now i shifted to LM 0w20 the car remains soundless and smooth even after 6k kms.
Now this is my own observation.

He tested the oil (delo gold) which already ran 2800km and its viscosities at 40 & 100 degree were still same as like new oil. But if you look at the color of the oil as dark black, you will feel it’s done and it’s time to change it.

your are not the only one having complaint for quartz series.

Vezel & BRV of my neighborhood boys' was diagnosed for noisy engine after 1800 km of oil change. They being educated guys did not fall trap to honda for opening head to check the issue, instead they switched to Mobil 1 0W-20 paid 7000 for the 4.7 litre bottle, from Sohrab Goth auto shops handling smuggled lubes serving construction machinery operators. They switched oil to Mobil 1 in their rest of the cars as well. drain interval is now 7000+ kms

how is havoline 0w20 as compared to total 0w20? pardon we cant afford mobil 1 or LM so it needs to be one among the 2 total or havoline

used once upon recommendation by the station, in an Altis 2017 experienced bad cold start so changed at 2000 kms, Shell & Aisin are my 1st & 2nd choice PSO Carient is 3rd.

But Arshad Bhai, I think licencing from International Certification Bodies like ACEA, API, ILSAC, etc. Also does matter a lot.

The engine oil, however Great it may be, if it isn't certified by any International Governing Bodies, then a person like me would get sceptical, as to why its not?

Then Toyota, clearly write in their manuals for Gasoline Engine oils to pour the oil which is API and / or ILSAC certified. Oils without API donut / seal may void engine's warranty.

I think Havoline 0w-20 is good enough.

personally i am happy with caltex products, using them for a long time and now they come with verification codes so the chance of fake product is much less.
