AoA! I have cg125 2018. Can I use Shell Hx3 (20w-50) instead of Shell Ax3(20w-50) in summers.Is it safe. I have used Hx3 last year and didn't find any wear & tear or extra fuel consumption in my bike.But I am still confused.

Use bike oil , they have a different formulation,

And you can't see the wear n tear thru naked eyes.

Aoa brothers I live in Australia and am in Pakistan these days.
I discussed oil thing with Caltex oil refinery people in Australia as I work there.
They said that as long as mineral oil meets API standards it is good.
Rest you can put any name to it It will function the same.
They also said that oils with lot of additives are just market gimmic. Most of the time they are put in very less quantity to make any effect any way.
Synthetic oils are not good in pakistan due to dusty environment.
Here most of the time oil and air filtres are not of good quality.
That leads to dust inside the engine and if oil is changed after long time (as in synthetic Oil) then it increases wear and tear.

I purchased Honda city 103 manual transmission 2017 model. It's meter running was 39000 km.
I put 0w20 as recommended.
On next oil change I put 5w30 looking forward to summer season ahead.
Now my car has completed 60000 km.
Can I revert back to 0w20?

Keep using 0w20. If it's not reducing oil then 0w20 should be used.

Using total 9000

Want to reduce reduce 5000 changing interval to 3000km on someones suggestion.

If you are going for 3000 km Oil change interval, then why not switch to 10w30 mineral?

Sir should go for early interval. I was just recommended by one of members here.

the oil burning problem can only be solved by hunting the source. But the suggestion (of quick changes) is also fine.. But the more experienced members can help..
10w30 will be cheap and good for 3000 km..
I suggest an engine compression test to check the source of the problem..
Wese high-rpm driving (e.g. small engines on motorways, quick accelerations), and dirty air filter also cause noticeable oil consumption (experienced this multiple times).

Discussed oil burning issue with a mechanic.
According to him it is common issue with 1krfe engine.
Just top up or change early.
Otherwise go for overhaul etc

Yes, common issue in 1kr fe engines before 2014. Then the new spider shape post 2014 had improved oil burning issue.

You can either buy a 4L bottle of 0w20 or 5w30 oil, whichever cheaper. Then after pouring in 3L oil, save the rest of the 1L oil in bottle. keep checking oil level after 1000-2000kms. Once it is at half the dipstick, top up some oil from the leftover 1L.

Keep doing this (top ups), and that 4L bottle should run fine for around 8000 to 9000km.

Then you can change oil.

The other option:
Go for a cheap mineral oil which you just change at 3000km. Make sure it actually comes out cheaper over 8000-9000km. Try mobil mineral ones.

Hello Everyone !!!

I have alto 2014 660cc eco . it has been driven 86000 km, Now i have decided to change its transmission oil, Does anyone know if (Totachi CVTF Multi Type Transmission Oil 4L) is a good option?

The recommended from suzuki is (ecstar Suzuki Genuine CVT Fluid Green2) , But that is too pricey so I want to know if there are other good options or if this Totachi oil will be good enough

Check the recommended interval for changing the cvt fluid for your vehicle online.

i am using 10w-30 Havoline and changing after 5-5.5K km intervals

Went for maintaince of my car today and found this chart for engine oil and other lubricants in the workshop. It is by Zic oils but gives a very good idea for grade selection. U can choose any brand.
