Lubricant Discussion- Engine Oil / Gear Oil

We bought a vitz few months ago. Its model is 2010 and it was imported in 2015. Total distance travelled by car is almost 1 lac 36000 km and distance travelled since last oil change is 3500 km.
Now we are looking for oil change, one person in my circle told me to use 10 W 40 engine oil while other asked me to use 20 W 50 engine oil

So i am confused which is better

5w30 all the way, telling you that from personal experience. Don't go with thicker oil.

if engine is healthy then 5w-20 or 5w-30

You should thoroughly delete all the thoughts of using any higher viscose oils in vitz like 10w-40 or 20w-50

Aoa. I need to change the gear oil of my JDM wagonR 2015 model. Its recommended oil is green 2. In open market it's for 24k(4 lit) . Suzuki dealers selling for 28 k and on daraz, some are selling it for 12-13k. That's a big difference. Can anyone share experience and views?

The lower price is likely fake. If its too good to be true, than it isnt likely to be true at all.

What is your prime concern. Originality or Price ?
If both then visit to Suzuki 3S and just buy whatever they are selling.

If price then visit nearest wholesale market and find the suzuki’s cvt oil.

Or there can be a third option also.

Since Suzuki doesn’t blend their oils by themselves (they arrange it from other companies), so you can google the search and the compatible oil for your car. Like ZIC’s CVT, Mobil’s CVT, Toyota’s CVT (since they are easily available in market) etc.

I want your suggestions i have drove my Alto AGS VXL pakistani made 50000Km on Orignal Company gear oil . Kindly guide me about which gear oil i will use and how much litter. Also please tell me on 50000 km which engine oil will be recommended?

@salar516 bhai this chart is totally wrong and way outdated.. seems like made by some desi ustaad..

Most engines run on 0w20. Maximum in today’s cars is 5w30.

Anything higher is too thick, limit being 40. One should never go above 40. Even using 40 is not really recommended as it’s quick thick.

AoA everyone. I just bought my 1st car (used). Honda city 1.5 prosmetic, 2020 model. Alhamdulillah.

Which engine oil is recommended, company and grade wise.
The engine has 100k milage as per log book, but the meter is reversed to 50k.

The previous owner is not providing which oil he used and the date, as there are no maintaince invoices provided.

Please guide me.

I used to buy liqui moly oil for my bike from a trusted shop on airport road, opposite of ali park. Just for info if liqui moly is suggested.

I drive daily 15km to 25km max and on weekends about 50km x 4 each month.

I will try to use high octane fuel fully, as its better for milage and engine as well. PSO pump on airport road near metro is what I usually use for my bike. Any recommendation for petrol pump?

Walaikum Assalam and congratulations on your purchase.
You can use any synthetic 5w30 oil (API SN or SP rated), which is the one recommended for this car. Pls use genuine Honda filter.
Honda’s own oil (Idemitsu blended) is quite good and cost effective. PSO oil is also quite good for the money. Try to get from Honda dealership and PSO company operated pumps, as fakes also available. These are good enough for your mileage and usage. No need to get expensive brands.
High octane fuel also not needed, just get regular fuel from a good pump, PSO company operated have good reputation.

All seem good options. I want to stick with one, I have honda showroom near me as well as "Filter House" oil shop which was recommended by a friend. WIll check prices and convenience for me of nearby shops. Thanks

do you have its manual ?
if yes, then can you jump at its lubricants page and post its picture here. Usually the lubricant's related informations are on the last few pages of the manual.

The manual confused me bcoz of the range it gave.
5w30 as suggested for city 2020, I reckon after 50k millage10w30 or 10w40

5w30 / 0w20 are both right grades for it and they are not for only 50k kms or 100k kms.

They are for entire engine lifetime if you want to keep it running optimally.

Don’t go thicker after X km.

Just follow this suggestion and keep using 5w-30 unless your vehicle's clock shows 5 lakh kilometers

this viscosity chart is bit confusing and not everyone can understand it easily.
