My Name is Arham and I want to know which engine oil will be best for my Honda City Aspire 1.5 prosmatec. I bought this car in June 2021 and it’s driven almost 97k Km. The previous owner was using Kixx 5w40 and when I bought it then I started using liquid moly 5w40 because Kixx was not available in my area or you can say that I didn’t find it. Most of the people advise me to use Honda genuine 5w30 even some honda advisors and a few other people are saying to keep the 5w40 and I’m confused that is it good to switch to 5w30 (Honda recommendation) or stick with 5w40. If I want to switch to 5w30, will it hurt my engine because changing oil grades is not good for the engine?
Secondly, the liquimoly seller claims that we can use 10k easily with out any issue but most of the time I change it to 7k or 8k km Because I live in FSD and my area is too dusty. I don’t want to use an oil filter for 7k or 8k because it seems like it’s not good for the engine.
Can someone suggest to me do I need to switch to 5w30 and if you don't want me to do that then which oil will be best for my car?
