To be honest 100 ml wont be the end of the world, the engine will probably just burn it off.

Perhaps you're right, but there's a common belief that there must not be excess oil in engine as this wrecks the seals of it. Not sure how true that is, perhaps you can bust the myth?
But this was the main reason why I was going finicky.

whenever you are not sure about oil. always pour lower side of it...check next morning for oil level and pour only if needed till level on dipstick reaches desired mark...

According to bob oil guy engine is fine with one quart of extra oil. Excess to that will damage seals. Like sir Xulfiqar said 100 ml is nothing.

the seals of the engine will not pop out or blow out unless you have frothing in the engine oil system and a choked out PCV/CCV system together.

I dont see a meagre 100ml over 2.9L doing that. now if you added 1000 ml over the 2.9L - yes that can cause frothing as the oil may start to get above the windage plate and contact the spinning crank weights.

Alto 660cc manual says 2.6 liters but all dealerships in Pakistan pour 3 liters. So far I have never seen any Alto owner reporting any issue.

Sorry if I'm vexing you but you mentioned of PCV/CCV being choked out, I have never heard of
it, can you please explain a little about the signs that it's choked or what steps can be taken to avoid its choking?

have mira es 2012 model, mileage so far is 94000 km. Its was on 0w20 throughout but recently a mechanic insisted for 20w50 instead of 5w30 or 0w20. He said on this mileage synthetic oil is not recommended. But after 20w40 oil my car is giving jerks and sometimes uthane mn bhi masla araha. Keep in mind that 1 month ago my engine oil became thick with sludge. So they did not clean the engine and poured the 20w50 for the first time. Kindly guide what should i do. Its been 800 km since the 20w50. Should i change the oil so dirt can get cleaned? Whats you suggestion?
