Sorry i just comfirmed once again from my mechanic he used gtx castrol 0w40 not 0w20 throughout for 3yrs.
Flush engine and go for fully synthetic 5w30 it is suitable for our weather and best all rounder grade
no need to flush it just drain it and fill it with quality 0w 20 oil
Full synthetic oil can live up to 20k km
But I think you should change it around 7k...
BTW wait for the suggestions of experts...
No problem, now use the correct oil...And also no need to flush, just drain old oil and fill the new one...
never use non synthetic oil in any japanese car.
if the manual says 0w-20, always stick with 0w-20.
max grade that u can use in this engine is 5w-30. any thicker oil and u will mess the engine.
just change the oil back to recommended grade asap. flushing is not mandatory.
Hello Everyone, I have purchased Honda City 2012, 2 months ago, the oil which was previously used is Total 10w40, the performance was good as well as fuel average. But then I changed the oil and used Zic X7 10w40. But the fuel average is very bad now. Which oil should I use? total driven 160k, but the engine is in perfect condition.
How much difference? In previous and current average...
If correct grade oil and original oil was used then there should be no difference in performance or average...

It was giving fuel average of 18 on long. Now while using Zic it is giving 12 on long.
Which one, total 9000 5w30?
Something else has gone wrong, only oil can't create such a Great difference...
And are you sure you put 10w40 or was it 20w50, if 20w50 then this difference might be cause of oil...
Brand doesn't matter, only grade does...
And yes if oil is real or not...
I don't know, however, the maintenance sheet shows that they have used total 10w40 Mineral oil. While I have used full synthetic.
I will suggest to change the oil, whether you do it yourself or from any mechanic...
Then check if average gets fine...

i bought a altis 1.6 zero meter 6 months back and then i had to go out of city for few months , therefore the car is only driven 1850 Kms till now, i am back now and will use the car properly therefore need to know should i change the oil now ? or complete 5000 Kms ?
because nomally company ask to change the oil after 3 months or 5000 kms which ever comes first but considering my car which is only 2000 driven what should i do ?
