they are also not interested in impressing other people and not gullible enough to be fooled into buying overpriced shit (unlike butt sb from lahore).

its billions of dollars worth equipment and these people are nuts about equipment longevity and economy

I have a friend who uses liqvi mooli in his Altis, one that costs 6-7k. I asked him how can you be certain that the oil you are pouring in is authentic ? His reply was, oh it's because it's a big and fancy reputable shop in Bahria town. Beforehand he was using the "cheaper" liquid moli oil and i didn't notice any changes in driving feel or fuel economy between the two when i drove his car. He switched from a fully synthetic oil to semi synthetic oil of lique molee which has some kind of additives in it. I told him you are wasting money. He disagrees.

my own car has done 320,000 km on caltex mineral oil. it was on 20w50 for a good part of its life and recently reverted to 10w30 with no issues.

would it go any longer if i had used these oils? the engine is pretty damn clean as well.

you have to understand the retailer's mentality, they will find a cheap source of oil, and then they will sell it at 2x price and call it the best.

Ofcourse, because it returns the BEST PROFITS

What do you guys think of Total quartz ? Many people say it's one of the best lubes you can get in the market these days.

Not all.... I don't even use even single part which is a replacement or alternative on my Nissan b14 or my Suzuki liana.I always use genuine and oem parts .. Both are 1.8L and using liquimoly 5w30 on them since a pretty long time... And we've had experiences with all types of oil used by clients...
We've seen the engines using liquimoly oils and the other using these three locally available oils.

And I did my compression last 1.5years ago. 180 in each cylinder. And was outta budget so never changed the oil...
Pulled it out, oil was obviously dirty but, dirty brown not black like diesel oils,... Kher got it flushed twice... Engine is super clean. And still the compression is same 180psi.

So I've done many rebuilds and lifted head of many different oil brand users. So I would not convince you to use amsoil, liquimoly or mobil since its your pocket, and your will... But I'd say these are some world recognised brands, even if they're not available in Pakistan, they're high quality stuff...

If you can't afford something and you have never used it so you can't make biased judgement or your review, claiming them as lies or liars...

Now people come to me, I simply ask them there choice of oil, since many clients trust different oils. So we don't force them, we just guide them, if they are willing we order the lubes and get the work done...

So take my suggestion, to judge something you need to check both extremes... Like cheap to cheapest and expensive to expensive most.. And then you can make a judgment or a claim..

No harshness to anyone. Just keeping my point of view upfront.

Why is ferrari using Shell? why not amsoil?

why is bugatti not filling it at factory or recommending?

why is mercedes not recommending it?

the engineers there must be idiots, compared to lahori peer sahb who tells customers that this oil is the best thing for you

Any tips on how to identify if it's a genuine product. I have switched to Total recently. First interval is here, will be heading to change it soon. Also i am sticking with 5k interval. Some say it's wasteful.

just shoot them an email to ask about the distributor (makki oil store in lahore)

or

go to a total petrol pump.

it isn't that simple with imported oils.

I am from Abbottabad, only one Total petrol pump in city and they don't carry lubricants. However there are two oil change shops that i know of who have this oil.

BTW their 5w30 is pretty good

Past Liqui Moly user here. I will say again Shell and Total available in Pakistan are million times better than Liquid Molvi and Amsoil. Regarding oil being black or brown, its suppose to be like that, its the one thing oil does that is CLEANING. And that's what it should be doing.

if its clean at the oil change, it is not cleaning anything. modern oils suspend the dirt while really obsolete ones would deposit it in the engine and it needed manual cleaning (talking very very old)
