What is the compression test? And how about Shell 5W-40 synthetic oil in summers?
As name suggests, it is use test the compression in combustion chamber.Even 5w30 fully synthetic is fine.
Can any mechanic run that test? And what's the drain mileage of the synthetic oil?
I mean he should. Life highly depends upon brand. But average is like 15000km. Between it is mention with the product.

Find the chevron delo product which is a synthetic 5w40 or 5w30 (fleet), its best for any modern diesel. This mobil product is also good stuff though.
But nothing beats chev delo or shell rotella for diesels.

Valvoline sell a diesel oil in a blue jug, its only sold in us gallon sizes. It comes in 5w40 synthetic and 15w40 semi synth.
Delvac 5w40 is very good stuff, loved by long haul truck operators.
