Toyota dealership says to change the oil at 2,500 km

Please tell which dealership is this so future customers dont go there. And also do tell why they advise a 2500 km oil change interval

They think that all diesels should oil at 3000 kms. This is a thing in this country, people loose their shit if you tell them I change oil at 6000 kms

5W30 fully synthetic engine oil. Toyota recommends 0W20 for this car. You can use 5W30 and check if it doesn’t reduce engine oil till 5000kms then drain and use 0W20 next time.

I use Petron Plus 10w30 in my Revo 1GD, and change at 5k km, last 2 oil changes. 1st 3 oil changes were dezon 20w50.
Initially, toyora highway also suggested 2.5k km for oil change.
I gradually increased 500km each time, and their 'ustad' finally said that the oil can last 5k km. Their staff also said that some other dealerships change at 5k km, but Toyota highway recommends 2500km oil change interval. They dont mind my 5000km interval any more now.

Max I used Dezon was for 4000km, and Petron plus for 5000km.

Ask them if they want to tell transporter owning container puller tractors that they have to change their engine oil and filter every 2500 kms

Hello. As so many experts are here, I want to ask about LM Oil and AMSOIL Oil Filter..
Been using Total 5w30 Full.Syn and VIC filter (OCI 5000 km to 6000 km usually) in Civic R18. Due to my running, the limit is quickly reached n i am looking for some extended interval oil + filter. (Because i want to keep some flexibility about when to change it, kind of buffer range)....

Is the combo of AMSOIL Oil filter (20micron, stated range 15,000 mile) + Liqui Moly 5w30 Molygen New Generation (stated range 10,000 km appx) Good enough for 10,000 km OCI on Civic 2009?..

With 10k km OCI, LM+Amsoil is costing 1.24Rs/km and Total + VIC (with 5500km OCI) costing Rs 1.49/km.

The factory Honda filter works great till 10,000 kms of city driving. Your car also has an oil change interval of 10,000 kms on the usual semi synthetic 5w20/5w30 oil that Honda recommend in this engine.

You need to check the oil at the 5000 kms interval and top it up only, No need to do a 5000 kms oil change on this engine.

sadly companies here have their own rules, they think that driving car in Pakistan is like driving in extreme conditions. Hyundai recommends 0w30 oil with change interval of 5000 along with oil filter. I told them this oil should be good enough for 10,000km along with filter (filter made by man hummel) but they are adamant that company recommends 5k change interval as driving conditions are very bad in Pakistan.

This is because there are no laws to prevent them saying this - It would be entirely believable that they would also claim that an oil change is required every 50 kms because of bad conditions in Pakistan.

I acted upon his advise (darte darte) and i am now stretching fully synthetic 5w30 caltex oil till 10k on oem filter. Now this time planning to extend the oci to 12k as the car runs mostly on highway. The per km rate has dropped a lot for me keeping in view the rising lubricants prices.
One got 2 options
Use guard filter with cheapo mineral oil and change on 5k kms if it is run on highway mostly. If it is running in city mostly then change on 3k km

2nd option is use good fully synthetic oil with oem filter (i buy filter from 3s) and change on 10 to 12k if the car runs on highway mostly. If it is used in city only then change on 8 to 10k km

I am following the 1st option for my vitz which is reducing oil though engine power etc is good and for my corolla which is used on highway mostly, i use the 2nd option.

Not saying, that oil changes should be very frequent, and obviously companies would want to sell after sale service as well as look for reasons to deny warranty claims, however, conditions in pak are truly different e.g. number 1 cause unregulated(in reality, though its claimed to be euro) fuel with horrible amounts of sulphur and mmt. High Sulphur fuel does deplete an oils tbn quicker, thats y some euro manufacturers have different oils for same engine in different countries. Then we have more dust (some sand particles r so fine they bypass airfilter and end up in oil) can be checked with uoa though. Then we have trucks shooting coal out of exhaust on highways (havent seen that in europe where they drag 229.5 oils upto 40,000 kms), finer soot will again end up in your oil. If u live in center of city and ur usual distances r small its considered sever service as engine and oil wont reach optimum temperature.
To sum it up, use your judgement and analyse your usage. You should be the best judge of which oil to use and for how long since you know ur scenario best

But 2500 kms on a 7 litre sump on a direct injected diesel?

I didnt know that established manufacturers are stuck in the 1930s?

Btw, its very easy to challenge their warranty denial because all these places are franchises. Franchise owners fear corporate hq when they have messed with customer rights and property.

I used to live in Pk and have helped people claim warranty on their cars when the service managers of certain dealerships tried to act pompous due to being some retired old fart from the army.
