@zyrak Also I am more interested in volt meter, it will tell me how near I am the cut of point during load shedding, how much more charging my battery needs during electric supply.

The amp meter will be telling how much fast I am discharging my battery during load shedding.

Dear siraj ... as u r now a user of apc ups so u don hv to need these kinda gadgets cuz wen ur ups ll be near cut off voltage thn its beep duration ll b narrow n it ll keep on continous deep which is an indication tht u need to decrease ur load or ups ll switch off with this load ....

For charging indications u hv leds in ur ups .. it has 5 leds. . When 5th led ll b lit it means it is 90% charged. . If this 5th led is lit for morechalf n hour it ll be completely charged ... n yes don let ur batteries to be deeply discharged. .. in continous deepin stage either decrease ur load or switch off the ups ... cuz apc output voltage is fixed i.e 220 volts. .

Experts in Karachi, please let me know a genuine honest dealer of AGS batteries who can make the battery with good quality acid and distilled water. Or let me know a place where I can buy lab grade 1250 Sulphuric Acid and genuine AGS tonic or any other less than 5 TDS distilled water. Too bad Pyro doesn't operate in Karachi.

We r sellin it @ 30500.. narada acme g series ... gel battery ... 155 ah ... 150 ah is acme f series .. which is vrla battery ... price is same for both ... one is gel n other is vrla

Bhaio again in a problem as most of members who helped me in tuning my ups knows that i purchased a pair of new ugs 175 batteries almost 10 days ago nw the problem which i am facing is dat in few cells the elctrolyte level dropped in both the batteries.can some 1 tell me the reason for this however the setting of my ups are almost fine i.e.
Cahrging current =13 A
Cutt off voltage =28.8 V
Battery low volatage = 21.9 V
Output voltage= 250V at full charge.

So during load shedding the reading will mean ampere drainage from the battery

and during electricity from the wall, the reading will mean charging amperage

Please confirm and also tell me what do I tell the shop keeper that I want what? AC/DC Ampere meter that can be connected in series?

yes u r right. this meter will tell u the charging/discharging current during electricity supply and ups operation. it is common meter and u can get from any BIJLI WALI SHOP. better take pic with u and show them the type u want.these meters come in dual function AC/DC. u can also inquire about panel ammeter for this. buy it with 50/60A range. yeh meter puraane model ki local buses mein b lge hue hote the.
as for as concerned voltmeter. there is not any much need of it bcz when batteries are in ggod health, during dischargong, voltage almost remains stable.for charging, LEDs on the ups tell the story. u can attach digital voltmeter for DC also with the setup for this purpose. but what i do is to check (if needed) with digital multimeter.

check if the batteries are unusually hot or not? there can be cell damage problem but its rare in new batteries. also one way is to check specific gravity of electrolyte but i hope have not gravity meter with u. so chaeck any unusual hot, or check electrolyte in all cells. No the temperature of batteries is always normal and same quantity of bubbles also.i observed two things zyrak bhai which dont seem fine to me.
1. When batteries are near to full charge first the voltage will increase fastly and will reach somewhere near to 28 V (at this time the ups fan speed is high) and then again drop to 26 V(ups fan speed gets low) . This process repeats for alsmost 3 times and after that batteries get fully charged and at 28.53 V the ups stops charging.
2. When battries are fully charged all the level indicator i.e led lights for 20 % - 100% are in on condition but as soon as i disconnect the wapda and load is shifted to ups the uper 2 led lights i.e 100% and 80% led light get off instantly and remaining 3 stays on.which shows that the remaining charge in my batteries is jst 60%.
Wherez the problem why the ups is showing jst 60% on full charge.

The 2nd problem shows that battery drops the voltage too early.what about back time?

Yes I have seen the snaps, I will upload them soon. Charging current of 10.7 AMP is almost perfect for me. I got a message today morning that the UPS has arrived, will go get it and will write in detail about everything inshaa Allah. Thanks

@xulfiqar Can you please tell me where did you buy lab grade sulphuric acid and distilled water in Karachi (which you mentioned in <a href="https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mechanical-electrical/153379-maintaining-ups-car-batteries#post2526629">Post#4</a> and <a href="https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mechanical-electrical/153379-maintaining-ups-car-batteries#post2529736">Post#16</a> The battery dealer told me he will use branded 1250 AGS supplied acid but then I got to know there is nothing such as AGS supplied acid and he sources it from somewhere and I am not to sure what quality distilled water is used to make that. I want to prepare my own batteries. Would request the shop name / person name or any contact number would be great.

Backup time is quite fine zyrak bhai and this problem started when i set the low battery voltage to 21.9 V before that at full charge ups was showing all the leds on.
Yesterday to check the backup time and to set battery low voltage i put load of 7 fans and almst 7 savers .after 3 hours battery voltage reaches 21 V but at that time ups was showing 4 lights of charging so i set the bat low voltage to 21.9 V. After that this problem started.

Can any body please confirm that a 110 AGS battery will need 10 litres of electrolyte?

I am in Karachi and I called Pyro Lahore. I asked them how much electrolyte will I need, they told me I need 10 Liters per battery and they will have to ship two cases (1 case = 12 Litres or 24 half Litre bottles). Is this true? I am a little confused trying to grasp that two batteries will need almost 20 litres of solution?
@talhawaleed This will be a cost of more than 2K. Is it worth It? Is pyro a good brand will it make my batteries last at least 3 years considering all other factors such as UPS parameters are perfect.

Please correct me if I am wrong, this is what I have understood from this forum and a pamphlet distributed by AGS. Batteries will be 2x110amp (24volt system).

1a) If I prepare my electrolyte I should put one part of Sulphuric Acid into 2 parts of water (I need 20 litres) so 6.66 litre of acid and 13.33 litres of water and then I should let this cool down over 24 hours and check gravity and try to bring it to 1280 or alternatively by adding acid or distilled water. If I am not able to source good quality Sulphuric Acid from Karachi then I will go for Pyro premixed 1250 electrolyte from Lahore and pour that in batteries

2) Once electrolyte is poured, I will wait 30 minutes and then connect charger which will be 11 amp and 24 volt since 2 x 12v 110 amp batteries are connected in series.

3) I will wait until the voltage reaches 15 volts. Once the voltage is 15 volts I will check gravity in each cell and it should be 1250 which would mean that initial charging is complete now and if electrolyte level falls below low mark I will fill it up with distilled water.

Also at 10% charging rate what should be the time till volts reach 15 mark as I will be using external charger and not the UPS when charging for the very first time.

Please tell me what I have missed and give me more suggestions.

@zyrak bhai jst figured out a new issue.gravity of electrolyte in batteries is less than 1200 something near to 1150 and i checked it in different cells bt same result.following pic will say the rest.
I checked the gravity when batteries were fully charged and no load was on ups.

Then to verify that if the gravity meter is faulty i checked the gravity of water which should be 1000.the last pic shows the result of water.which i think is accurate.
