The pyro battery water and battery electrolite both in 500ml plastic bottle. You have to meet the manager of that section on the floor, he will arrange for you on your special order if you need 30liter packing.

Thats The Issue My Friend....After So Many Incidents Of Using It As A Weapon....They Are Strictly Advised Not To Sell It To Anyone Beside LAB's...

I went for another round today. I have found the guy selling commercial grade openly, asking 2000 for 35 litres of commercial grade and 4000 for 2.5 litres of lab grade sulfuric acid. I did not have enough cash on me, will go again tomorrow.

Can any body please confirm that a 110 AGS battery will need 10 litres of electrolyte?

I am in Karachi and I called Pyro Lahore. I asked them how much electrolyte will I need, they told me I need 10 Liters per battery and they will have to ship two cases (1 case = 12 Litres or 24 half Litre bottles). Is this true? I am a little confused trying to grasp that two batteries will need almost 20 litres of solution?
@talhawaleed This will be a cost of more than 2K. Is it worth It? Is pyro a good brand will it make my batteries last at least 3 years considering all other factors such as UPS parameters are perfect.

Why don?t you buy 30 liters CAN from pryo electrolyte for around 1200 rupees and have it shipped to Lahore via train. Shipping via train will cost you additional 300-400 rs more. Remaining 10 can be stored and can be used later.

It will surely be worth it.

very easy call the office number as provided in the 1st post of Talha Waleed, ask them for Mr. Khokar and tell him where you need shipment in Panjab. They can ship in Punjab but not in Sindh.

Guys I hv a 24 volt setup. I hv observed that electrolyte level on cells below the terminals decrease more as compared to the other cells. is it normal?

Bro today I checked the new Phoenix UGS 175 batteries I got in April 2015 as per your recommendation. The UPS was charging them since 5 hours so I got suspicious. When I checked the amps, UPS was charging at 1.5-2.0Amps although the batteries showed 27.30Volts across them.

There has been an issue with Wapda not sending proper voltage since a few days ranging from 200-210Volts and when I checked it showed 213Volts, so I thought maybe that's why it's charging so slowly and at only 2Amps.

Then I removed the caps and checked the electrolyte level, it was just a little low in a few cells. I took S.G gravity and it showed around 1250 in a few cells only, mostly were 1200-1230 and some were 1150-1200. Although the batteries run the whole house just fine during 1 hour of loadshedding, they are taking too long to charge fully. Could be due to low voltages from Wapda, but can't be sure!

So I'm a bit worried now that I've used Pyro Electrolyte since the beginning in these batteries and the batteries are showing signs of death in just 3 months.

What should I do? Should I take them back to the battery guy and have them checked again? Or should I run some more tests (such as discharging the batteries fully to see the total hours of backup) myself to confirm???

At 27.3 volts, the batteries are close to the UPS cut off voltage which is around 28V, so a low charging rate of 2 amps is perfectly normal. The UPS is simply trickle charging the batteries until they are 100% charged.

But what would you say about the electrolyte decreasing in just 3 months and the gravity not being 1250 in all the cells, some being 1180 even???

Should this be an alarm of some sorts?

I'm not getting more than 1 hour loadshedding so I can't really confirm the backup timing, but for this 1 hour around 600-700Watts load is used and the batteries don't show any sign of stress.

My advice:
Do not attempt to check the total back-up time. Its like giving a heart attack to the batteries and shortens their life.

Yes I know what you mean by that, that's called deep discharge and a battery has only a certain number of these discharges after which it dies.

I would suggest you wait for the battery to fully charge, then check SG. Shake the battery to allow the electrolyte to mix thoroughly. Then check SG. If it is still low in a few cells then try to add more electrolyte to bring the SG up to mark. Check again after a few weeks, if readings are still inconsistent, then you might have a problem is some cells.

Is shaking the battery not harmful for the battery life?

Is it not harmful to add electrolyte, I thought we always add distilled water no matter if sg is low or high?

To shake the battery should I remove the caps of the batteries, this way it usually releases bubbles
