Maintaining UPS/car batteries

enough to start the car in one self! lol i have no knowledge about the minimum battery volt required! i am looking for a unit to buy asap!

What exactly is the purpose of this trickle charger thing?
Do you want to install this permanently on car, or you want a thing that you can use a day before you intend to use the car?

aakhlas7 give u a good idea to use something like 15v 5A thing. Or i have found very small trickle chargers online you can import that stuff. Not sure if its available here or not.

Anything that has 15v, and even 1 A, will charge your battery in a few hours, car batteries are like 60AH so they should be normally charged at 6-7 Amp current. Though i dont think there is any harm if you charge them at 10 Amps once in a while. But nothing above that to be on safe side.

brother, why would any one or how on earth anyone can help you without the needed data.

basic data needed to answer any question relates to

amp-hr rating of your battery,
charging rate
and cutoff voltage

this is a much needed data for anyone to help you with your problem.

I am also thinking to get TDS meter first. I am hopeful I will get one from some chem shop at anarkali. If looks different then yours. What do u say. Buy from local shop or import from aliexpress?

i saw it in college road rwp where seller was selling the equipment worth of USD 4-5 for Rs3000.

regarding battery current iam not sure. once i got checked my ups by mechanic he said its throwing a little bit more current so he repaired/serviced it.

You can make your own charger. Buy a 5A 15vdc power supply for charging your car battery. About 15~20 minutes charging will boost the battery to start the engine. Once started it should be enough to keep running. Please keep you car tuned for good performance.

You can buy the equipment from Hall Road Lahore. Get help from shop keeper, he can guide you to more shops offering such goods. Many shop keepers have own set-up to get the DIY things done for you. It should cost you between Rs. 400~500. If you tools you can try out the things yourself.

What to and how to adjust on 600 watt desi ups?
On wapda everything works fine but on ups lights become dim and fan speed is too slow(barely moving),
other things like dsl router and led tv working fine on ups.

p.s its a square wave ups 8 to 10 year old.

replace the ups with any pure sine wave ups like APC brand ....

Guys please answer my query.

I plan to buy a deutsche power 12v 1200W pure sine wave ups (24v is not available in pure sine wave). I intend to connect two Phoenix UGS 215 batteries (160 AH) for good backup time in parallel setup.

my load is 5 ceiling fans and 5 energy savers.

kindly tell me if two 160 AH batteries will be too much to handle for a 12v ups or should i go for a lower capacity like UGS 175 batteries (but that would reduce the backup time) and also how much time will the batteries (UGS 215) require to charge to fully charge ?

Any other recommendations would be dearly appreciated as i havent bought neither the ups nor the battery yet

@talhawaleed Yesterday I casually checked my batteries after almost about 9 months of battery installation. The water level of battery was below Low mark. Not very much exposing the cell but still exposing the white "chadderien". I immediately disconnected the uPS system. The batteries don't look swollen or anything. They still have 27.7 amp at the time of shutting off ups and now they are stable at 26.something

My question is should I top up with AGS battery tonic? Is it distilled water or is it 1270 gravity sulfuric acid?

Any other low cost solution in Karachi. One bottle is 75 for 1 liter. I am suspecting at least 10 liters going in 2 AGS 165 batteries.

In this whole ordeal would the batteries have been damaged?

You need to add distilled water (battery water) to top the level.

A weird problem solved in a weird way.
Total load on Ups is below 500watt (2 fans, 5 savers). If i turn on both fans then ups performs normally i.e no whining sound or slow speed. Which means under load it performs normal.
