Yes it is "gandhak ka taiza" be very care full while adding it with water. it bubble out like volcano so plz be careful and always add acid to water slowly,not water to acid (if i am not wrong)

Thanks you are back. gentlemen i dont know wat proper or exact word should be for that but they say it chopper (its like a coil type thing) they say this is advanced technology instead of using heavy transformers.
ok lets see that any china/ homeage type UPS are slim smart like desktop PC and me pretty sure that they don,t have a huge transofrmer in it so how they step up the voltage and works fine on 500/1000 watt and more capcity. i hope you would have get my point and query.

otherwise search on google for china based iverters and chargers ., its a small size box of 6inch*4*2 in sizes for (only charger 10 ampere charging current cost 1400/= in local market) ( only inverter 500 watt converting dc to AC volt cost almost same in local market)

it is confirmed that all Chinese inverters have no transformer. I have checked Homage, Mercury, Inverx, Comcept all don't have transformer. I consider this is reason why they are lesser in price than desi inverters.

dear poster today i check the gravity of battery water and it was 1100 so i decided to flush my battery & pour new acid in it.

i have flush my battery and prepared the acid with distill water as per your instruction. the acid gravity was 1280 before pouring in the battery but once it was poured the gravity reduces to 1200 and in next morning the gravity reduces to 1100. my battery is 230AH and it is 4 months old and my UPS is charging it at 20A.

what should i do now.

i want to know about the shop in islamabad/ rawalpindi for the purchasing of sulphuric acid so that i can make the battery electrolyte, i am going buy two new batteries and want to put my own electrolyte in it, my questions are
1)what should be the gravity when putting it in the new batteries
2) how much time required for the charging of the new batteries in the shop
3)how much solution is sufficient to fill the two 165 AH batteries.
4) shop address for acid purchasing

2) Verify the cut of Voltage before the charging stops
How long is the load shedding, if it is for 3 hours after every one hour of light then probably batteries are not being charged properly before entering into next cycle of load shedding. Obviously once batteries wont be charged properly then you will experience similar results.

Keep the gravity till 1250
Charging rate should be 15 Amperes for your batteries.

and cut off volatge should be set to 28Volts ( for two battery UPS)

Bought the new 165AH batteries yesterday, when i connected the batteries my ups was showing that batteries are 20% charged, ups started charging batteries but when the load shedding started after 30 min the ups started showing low batteries alarm, this is happening from yesterday, today i checked the gravity after charging it was showing 1225.My question is after full charging what should be the gravity, i have also external charger attached to the batteries which i some times start using, my ups is APC, and i dont knw abt its charging rate. wht could be the problem.

First of all, once you have installed the fresh batteries and there was a load shedding immediately after 30 min. You should have shutdown the UPS and allowed it to charge fully for the first time. First time don’t base you all the conclusions on gravity. You need to verify the charging Rate with AMP METER and terminal Voltage once UPS stops charging the batteries. Then during the load shedding, observe the backup time and if its ok then you are all set to go.
Initially the gravity maybe fine but later it is subject to quantity and frequency of load shedding. If load shedding is so often that batteries are not getting ample time to be charged then gravity will go bad. But later once interval between load shedding will improve then this problem will be ok. Gravity of 1250 is ok and you can also keep it to 1280 but it should not exceed this.

Guyz ... correct me if am wrong. One of the cheapest way of getting distilled water is your air conditioner. The water that the A.C excretes is actually distilled water. Get your bucket under the A.C water outlet and fill the bottle .

Guyz, I bought New Battery for UPS last Saturday.

Battery is Osaka 175. Ups charging Rate is 16 amp.

But for some reason, battery doesnt gets full charged even after 6 hours of continuous charging.

UPS is working fine. As after 6 hrs of charging battery showing charge of 13v only.

what could be the reason behind this? Is this Battery Faulty?

This water is essentially distilled water but is called condensate. Since it is water vapor which has condensed on cool surface. The problem is that air carries number of impurities and once it flows through the evaporator then wet surface of evaporator will absorb many impurities and will contaminate the condensate with whatever is in the air. If some how you can keep the condensate from collecting the dust from air flowing through the evaporator coils then you can drink the water as well. But you know that this is very unpractical that’s why condensate will contains May impurities.

Also condensate water is collected in a reservoir before it is discharged, this reservoir may contain many contaminations and may also be treated in past with chemicals. That’s why this water is not even fit for drinking.

Third the cooling coils of Evaporator may be soldered at different points and water passing through it may contain some health risks and If you will try to taste this water then it would taste like a coil cleaner water.

Something is wrong somewhere, verify your calculations and post the results again.

1) UPS should stop charging the batteries once voltage across the terminal reaches 14 Volts. Verify this
2) Verify the charging rate, Rate which you quoted seems right but verify this with AMP meter your self. Once batteries are completely discharged then it will charge the batteries with this rate and later this value will go down.
3) Check the gravity of cells using hydrometer. It can also be due to a dead cell’s inside the battery or bad electrolyte.
4) look for loose terminals maybe batteries are not getting the current at all.

CHOPPER:

Chopper is an electronic switch, which interrupts one signal under the control of another, so its in no way doing Transformers Job. Different names have been given to Choppers based on slight different operations. Like, Chopper Amplifiers? Once very small DC signal is needed to be amplified then offset signal is also amplified. This is unwanted in many circumstances because its easy to amplify AC signal as compared to DC signal. So what basically Chopper Amplifiers does is that it converts DC into AC then amplifies it and then converts it back into DC. End result is zero offset that’s why this technique is also called Zero-Offset amplification. Not to forget that we are talking about very small signal so please don’t confuse it with Transformers Job.

Within the body of UPS system, Choppers are placed between Inverters and Batteries. It provides regulated power from Inverter to batteries during charging and during load-shedding, it switches the path from batteries to the load.
