I already have homeage ups problem is that it only charges at 3 to 4 amps which cause battery near to discharge as there is the situation of load shedding in lhr. I got it checked 6 times from the kenwood service center nothing happened.

This picture shows three options on Transformer and if you take this wire out from first option and put it into second then it will change the charging rate and vice versa on third.

Do u have 1000 va UPS... I mean 600 watts wala? I have also bought one... how have u determined that its charging at 3-4 amps?

Yes its the same ups 1000 va i-e 600 watts and checked with the amp meter. May be its reading is false problem is that it discharges the battery with one day. Some ppl say it needs a voltage stabilizer to control stable voltage 240 v.

Other wise its a good ups it gave me 6 years of serivce.

Talha bhai i need to ask another thing..
I have this clamp meter of which i m attaching a pic, please guide me how i can use it to check my Ups's charging ampere, i mean is it campatible,if yes then where should i set the needle on the clampmeter.. Thanks in advance

move the dial on Dcv and clamp it on the wires which are comming from ups to the battery terminals ull see the reading like 14.5 or else...

Saadzzz i was asking about how to measure the Current.. Not the voltage,my ups already has a meter for voltage..

Seems like your device does not have an option to measure DCA, which is Direct Current Amperes. Look carefully as I don?t see the option. Normally, Amp-meter which have an option, you can measure charging Amperes as shown in image 1 and Voltage as shown in image 2.

Guys plz recommend a good battery for my homage 1000VA UPS...... load ziada nahin ho ga, normally 1-2 fans and a few energy savers plus laptop charging when needed..... we face heavy loadshedding in our area so keep this factor in mind. prices ka idea bhi de dain if possible.

I bought 20 Liters drum of Sulphuric Acid for 400 Rs which should be enough to produce enough mixture for 5 washroom Baltis of Acid. 1 balti would be consumed for one 200 AMPS battery.

1) Always pour Acid on distilled Water not distilled water on Acid
2) Wear Rough Clothes, Glasses and gloves if possible.
3) Keep the Acid and Mixture out from the reach of Children
4) Lot of heat would be generated during this process & be very careful.
5) Always Use plastic balti not Metallic
6) Mixture will take 24 hours to cool down
7) Never pour the mixture inside the battery once it is Hot
8) 64 % distilled water should be Mixed with 36 % Acid
9) You may end up getting a gravity of 1400
10) Keep hydrometer with you and only check once fluid has cooled down
11) You can perform later adjustments by pouring more distilled water on the mixture once it has cooled down and at that time no heat will be generated.
12) Use 2 Liters pepsi plastic bottles to store the mixture
13) Label it ? Very Dangerous Sulphuric Acid with Gravity bala bala ?
14) Keep it in safe place where no one other then you can touch it
15) Balti used for producing the mixture should never again be used for taking bath.

1) Entire exercise will have no meaning if you are not using distilled water.

Do it at your own risk and don?t allow anyone to miss use the Acid for hurting anyone otherwise you can go to jail.

Where to purchase the acid? i dont think anyone will sell it to me since its prohibited right?

Brother, Number of different brands are available. Can’t exactly comment but whatever you buy, make sure it has a good quality and can measure both AC and DC Amperes.

Depends upon your budget, Your UPS seems like one battery UPS so either you can try Volta N175 or Phoenix 215.

I understand, people face problems preparing distilled water and then electrolyte. What, I recommend is that you buy 20 Liter big bottle of NESTLE, take it to the battery guy. Ask him to prepare the electrolyte using clean Sulphuric Acid and Clean Container. Pay some extra, get the entire job done in front of you and get it filled in your battery after wards.
Although, I don’t recommend anything other distilled water but I guess due to availability issue, NESTLE water will still be better than ordinary Tab water. But, later strictly follow distilled water for re-topping your batteries.
