Thnx talha bhai for your help, but i adjusted the amperes to 10Amps for my two 140AH batteries is it ok or should i change to 12,14.

If load shedding is frequent and batteries don?t get ample time to charge then consider changing this to 14 Amperes otherwise its perfect.

I think you can easily modify the existing ones that are available to something like the picture above.

sodium, calcium, iron, copper, chloride, sulfate, and bromide are responsible for producing cation/Anions. These fall under the category of minerals which are removed by distillation. Kindly present some references so that I may be able to modify my knowledge base.

Let me sort this out..Check out the conductivity of your distilled water(it will not be zero)..If it is not zero it is not completely pure..Deionized water has zero conductivity..Pure water does not conduct electricity..Very simple answer..ANd i will try to post some pics tmrw aswell which shall conclude this misunderstanding..De-ionized water>distilled water..

Yes, you can connect two batteries with this UPS system in parallel. Remember that you don?t want to make it 24 Volts system but stick to 12 Volts system.

For that

Connect Positive terminal of one battery with positive terminal of second battery
Connect Negative terminal of first battery with Negative terminal of second battery
Connect of the positive terminal of batteries with UPS positive wire
Connect of Negative Terminal of batteries with UPS negative.

Stick to 12 Amperes charging option.

sir wont u think 12 amp is too low as u r connecting 2 batteries in parallel .if they are 120 ah batteries than 2 connected in parallel will need 24 amps.

A Multimeter has an option to measure Voltage and Current. Look into this image as this meter can measure both so you need one if ever you want to do small diagnosis. I would say, that every house should have one such meter as its very helpful in variety of home applications.

Now if AGS does not develops a battery with capacity larger then 200 AMP-HR whereas Pheonix does then this is a marketing strategy. Whatever one says, if manufacturing process is not faulty then every lead acid battery is manufactured using same processes so normally I prefer one which has lower rates.

I myself am using two Pheonix 220 batteries at home as it was cheaper at time I bought and had more capacity then its counter parts if you compare the rates and above all, It is performing flawlessly from last one year.

I guess now people have realized that its not a bad battery so rates must have gone up.

Does this thing measures the charging amperes too?I have seen the multimeters but not the one in the pic..isn't this a clamp meter-whats its price sir?

Your own reference shows very promising results against Distilled Water conductivity of 0.5 S/cm and that of Tap Waters of 500-800 S/cm. We are interested in pure water and distillation provides very good results. De-ionized water may even be better but point is if its readily available in Market. Pryochemicals provide electrolyte prepared with de-ionized water in big containers but they have restricted themselves to Lahore. Above all, every forum, article gives importance to distilled water or De-ionized waters for battery and it really does makes a good difference once you compare the results with electrolyte filled in batteries by ordinary battery shops. I know how to prepare distilled water with little ease, if you have a better idea or can guide members how to prepare de-ionized water then you contribution will be really helpful to other members in forums. Thanks for highlighting the data which has contribute to my better understanding.

Once two batteries are connected in parallel then you have to cross check using AMP-meter if both are being charged with same 12 Amperes current or has reduced to 6 Amperes and if that?s the scenario then try to increase the charging rate till both of them gets equal share of 12 Amperes provided if its possible on your UPS system.

Single one battery has an AMP-HR rating of 120 AMP-HR so you don?t want to pass a current more than 12 AMP through it. That?s the maximum allowable current and adding more may damage the batteries and will reduce its life.

I would prefer local as UPS card installed on these UPS systems has different variables which can control the cutoff, output Voltage, low cutoff and you can control charging rates from an option on transformer.

This provides a liberty to attach batteries of your choice, if intensity of load shedding is more then you can increase the charging rate whereas I have heard that you cannot do all these things on Homeage UPS.

You can call this a clamp meter or AMP meter, I bought this for Rs2500 from college Road, RWP. This can easily measure charging rates as only difference between this and multimeter which you are referencing to is that you have to pass the current through the meter by taking the wire off and that?s a hazel.

It's called a Clamp Meter. Basically its a Multimeter with a clamp on top. Take the positive wire between the clamp and it will tell you the reading. If you take both the +ve & -ve at the same time in the clamp, the reading will be zero.

Three years back I got interested in analyzing the procedure which is used by battery maintenance shops. They purchase Sulphuric in drums and then mix it with tap water in 66 % by volume. They say that chemical reaction causes the water to boil which remove the oxygen molecules from the mixture hence results in giving up gravity of 1250 which they pour it in car batteries.
Batteries run fine for minimum 2 years where as I think if it is all about removing impurities from car batteries then they are making a mistake by adding tap water which would off course boil the water but would not guarantee the removal of impurities present inside the water. I have six batteries of 200 Amps each in my office which can support 15 computers running on them during heavy load shedding. In order to over the Myth I have also purchase the drum of Sulphuric Acid and have mixed it with distilled water which I have produced it in my own lab. I took all my batteries outside and have flushed it with tab water to remove all the deposits present inside the batteries. Flush was performed multiple times then batteries were refilled with Acid of 1280 gravity prepared within my office compound. From last three years I have been maintaining the gravity of my UPS batteries up to 1280 by mixing the acid and distilled water as required. Even at the end of third year my batteries are able to provide 90 % backup time as compared to which it gave at time of purchase even after excessive load shedding of 1 hour?s with5-6 times a day from last three years. Flush was is a periodic exercise which is performed at least once a year also I have adjusted the output of my UPS to charge per battery at rate not more than 8 Amps.
Similar procedure was adopted on all my three car batteries which has been running fine without a problem from last three years with mileage more than 80000 km each.
I would like to hear about your thoughts on this but I would not recommend you to try this procedure as tremendous amount of heat is generated during the mixing process which can easily damage any individual who is doing this for the first time and also you have to leave the mixture in Plastic bucket for completed one day to allow the mixture to cool down.

Great. I have been reading this thread and decided to do the same with my UPS batteries. Normally they last for 2 years maximum and then I have to buy new ones... BUT this time I am determined to make them work longer.

Now first of all I got myself a hydrometer. I used it to check the battery fluid and the specific gravity was found to be 1150. My battery is Exide N165 and its 9 months old now... I was worried because it should have been 1250 or 1280... I used to add distilled water when the battery level got low in these 9 months. This distilled water was purchased from the battery shops and was branded.

However now I decided to go to the battery shop and I got 1.5 liter diluted acid for 80 rs. I used the hydrometer to suck the battery fluid from one cap at a time and drained it in the sink and I added that acid which I purchased from the shop. I did not fully drain the battery fluid but just one squeeze of the hydrometer at a time.
But still hydrometer shows 1150 gravity.

Now today I took the battery to the shop and asked them to drain it, flush it with distilled water and then add fresh acid of 1250 gravity and then recharge the battery for me. They said k bhai jo tumhain abhi backup mil raha hai woh b nai milay ga. Aik dafa battery ka acid nikal do *** plates kharab ho jaen gi battery kharab ho jae gi.... He also said the battery was down... I said yes because I brought it to you after using it for 2 hours of load shedding... He said hum sirf isay charge karaen gae yae apko kal sham ko mil jae gi... I said k charge to yae UPS b kr day ga but ap woh karo jo mai keh raha hoon... He said acha bhai paisay apko daynay hain hum to kar daen gae but ap phr mat kehna k kharab krdi... I was double minded so I decided to raise this issue on this forum first and then do something about it....

He also said k apne UPS ka charging rate thora sa barha di jiyae ga q k UPS battery ko fully charge karnay say pehlay cut kr dayta hai supply... He said k thora sa rate barha daen gae to acid khodhi 1250 gravity ka ho jae ga ap kabhi b acid mat daliyae ga battery may...

You need a good electrolyte in batteries right from day once you have made the purchase. Try to contact Pryochemicals and ask them to deliver you the electrolyte. Flush is made with Tap water as distilled water is bit hard to prepare so you don?t waist it while flushing. Distilled water or De-ionized water is used to prepare the electrolyte and further top up the batteries later. Once we talk about two years then backup does not reduces during this time but we may experience little variation after that. Batteries should be fully charged before flush and last of all, just drain it completely by putting it upside down and repeating this process for 3-4 times by putting tap water in it. Batteries shop don?t care either because they don?t know anything and secondly they want you to visit them more often. Good electrolyte and right settings on your UPS will be a blessing. Just follow the thread, it?s very easy and same information is repeated 100th of times so you won?t miss anything.

sir je in parallel if the battery conditions are same the current should divide equally between them.

Yes, you are right that current divides in Parallel. Just wanted him check if system is not compensating for drop in charging current.

2: OP told me to charge it fully and and then clean it. I asked him again and again and he said "It's safe". It is not. You do get a shock from it though not deadly as voltage is only 12.

I took my battery to my father's good friend's battery shop. They turned it over and that is it. Then they told me the point 1 when I asked them to clean it properly.

... and point 2 happened too while he was closing the caps. A good shock moved him. Battery was half charged at most.

Now I will be getting it back tomorrow. New solution was poured in and charging takes time so tomorrow it is.

Nothing happened with me
I have done "Flush" twice on two different batteries and they worked
Only worry of too much black water coming out and nothing else, no shock no dead battery

Me totally novice, have no experience in Battery or UPS ...
