Ok Update i just took my both batteries to a battery shop and they checked its gravity.

it was 1.200 they said it is OK.Batteries are OK.

And i took the UPS to the shop where they sent me to the Electrician where he connected both batteries and he said that UPS is OK.

And now when i came home and connected UPS and now it is charging at 27.0V constant not going up nor coming down.

Also please tell me which type of clamp meter i should buy.

One which is for AC or DC.if you please tell me.

If you please also post the picture for reference how it looks.

Ok one thing more there are two type of

Amp Selector option in my UPS.

10Amp and 20amp which i should select

and There are also two modes at its back.

UPS and INVERTER

which one i should select.

This is a clamp meter

It would help u find battery volts, wapda volts and charging amperes

My problem is that .... when ever i turn on two fans they run fan...... but when the third fan is turned on......... they all become slow.... i dont know what is happening plzz help

UPS have been designed for resistive loads, whereas fan falls under the category of inductive load. Fan changes the current voltage waveforms that’s why you experience this abnormal behavior. Few UPS have a capacitor attached with output line which antis the affect of inductive load to some extent. And it has also lot to do with battery bank. Live with it.

I just called the guy from whom i bought this UPS and told what this UPS is doing.

He told me that the UPS is holding the Gravity of the Batteries to not go down.

That is why it is charging at 28.6V and not going forward nor Backward.

Is it true or he was just making fun out of me.

He is bullshitting you, this is imported, tell him to get the cutoff adjusted to28 Volts if possible or tell him that this is a faulty piece and try to get it replaced or buy another brand.

Your battries have gravity on the lower side, anyways.

He might be correct, If battries arent heating up then its ok. Keep caps of ur battries loose... you need to call a ups guy to confirm if it's overcharging or mot. or better purchase a clamp meter. It would be best thing to do.
Get a good quality one, 800,900 ka mil jaega... Its available in 600 too. But better buy good one.

If it's charging at just 1,2 amp then it's ok... It's just a floating charge to keep the volts up. If its charging at high amps then it's bad.

you are right but even then 28.6 or 28.7 Volts is way to high but if UPS should had been charging @ 1 Amperes at 28 Volts or 28.2 Volts then it was ok not in this case.

try to look for this one as it has both AC and DC option and you should be able to get it for Rs 1900. Very handy for many home applications.

Update:

Now when UPS reaches 28.7V it stops charging fastly and then it starts working in slow mode and the charge among all battery terminals remain 13.5V nor going down nor going up.So i think it is OK.

Plus the Output it is giving it changes according to the Capacity.

Now with all load it is giving me 220VAC output with 5 Energy savers,DSL Modem and 2 fans running full.

Also if you please tell me that what is this Float Charging as it is written on the Pack of this UPS.

I think everything is ok... again, make sure ur battries aren't heating up and its electrolite is not evaporating.

I have seen inverters cutting at 27, 28 volts max., 28.6 is on the higher side.. but there are some UPSes that cut off at 29 volts too! 14.5 volts x 2 which is actuallly a ******** and waste.. 27, 28 volts are more than enough. Anyways... it looks that ur UPS is either a little miss tuned or if its not tunnable then 28.6 are the factory specs and u gotta live with it.

For now its safe as ur battries are new, but as they grow old and gravity goes down.. then reaching 28.6 volts is going to be much harder.. then ur UPS might start heating them up! So keep watch on battery temp, electrolit level and gravity.. specially in winters.

This is happening now... mean to say when the batteries were new and was not one year old the fans were working fine..... i also checked the ups its fine. The battery seller are saying may be ur batteries are weak and i m sure the battery cells are perfectly fine..... not even a single cell is dead

Floating charge is a low rate charging just to keep the voltage of the battries maintained to the top limit, so that when light goes ur battries are ready with top backup capacity, this feature is in newer UPSes. Older UPSes would once charge it till lets say 28volts and then cutt off... when the battery volts would drop to say 26volts, it would start charging again till it reaches 28volts and would then cutt off and repeat.

This feature is called trickle charging in which a floating charge is maintained just to keep the voltge maintained. The chargiong speed however is reduced greatly, it would not keep charging at 10 amperes or 20. it would just charge at 1,1.5 amperes.

Always consider this formula for charging rate
Charging rate= AMR-HR ratings/10
140/10 =14 Amperes
So 10 Amperes whereas 20 Amperes is not recommended.

It is a Chinese brand and assembled in pk for tax reduction... MZ is more expensive and probably lower in quality for the same reason because it is China import.. Anyhow

Homage's this year lot did had 10-20amp conversion button + a button to enable it to operate in even very low voltage!

So it would have been a good deal, anyways Allah Mubarik kary!

Nice Thread. dont u think that UPS on the continuous float charge will ultimately effect the life of battery. because these batteries are basically made for vehicles not UPS and there is automatic charging cut off system in vehicles. my 2nd question: people generally confuse the battery product name with the amp of batteries for example AGS or Exide GL50/ NS50ZL battery is actually 36 or 38 amp battery so dont u think that the formula for charging i.e amp/10 will lead to wrong charging amp
