Couple of things I want to mention here,
those people who are travelling for the first time, should keep in mind that they will have to face one of the worst traffic in Shahdrah, Gujranwala Bypass (at peak time like around Maghrib), Rawalpindi (specially if you going through GT road towards Taxila) and Abbotabad.....
Day 2 Continues
Oh the Main Road of Abbotabad....... is so busy. The busy life of Abbotabad and its hot weather made me question my knowledge about Abbotabad. It was basically a city, not the dreamy place me and My wife had in our mind. I had been there once before but was on a coaster hired by the institute, that I work for. That's why did not feel that way before.
We had decided to stop in Abbotabad for lunch, but when we reached Abbotabad.... it was way different from what we had thought. I did not want to stop there but my wife insisted. So we decided to have Pizza from Rahat Bakery in Abbotabad........
That Pizza was the worst decision of the entire trip.
We should have never eaten that pizza, it was the worst 1000 rupees spent in that trip. Normally two lahoriiiiis can even eat a large Pizza without any problem but we couldn't even finish the medium sized pizza there and got the last two slices packed with us..... which were thrown in the garbage at night because they were no longer edible.
While in Rahat Bakery I looked up the list of Hotels I had already searched on Google Maps. I called a few hotels and got the rates. only one of the hotels was giving us budget rate..... Galiyat Hotel. He told us 1,500 on the phone (Off season rates). After suffering from the ajeeb o gareeb taste of Pizza we set off towards Balakot.........
We offered Asar Namaz in "Mian g Hotel" and then left for Balakot again. When we reached Balakot it was already Maghrib time. i did not feel safe to make my wife stand outside while I go for namaz at that time, so we decided to find a hotel first...... we asked around, the rates were higher than expected...... so we went to Galiyat inn. The manager was not there so we called him and asked about the rates again....
I told him that I am a student and want to pay less
it worked and we got the room for just RS.1,000.
we put our bags inside and prayed namaz and then set off towards Balakot Bazaar to eat the famous chappal Kababs....... We people of Punjab only know of chapal Kababs with a lot of onions inside them. These Kababs were different and one could say that it was real meat..... while in Lahore we are not so sure about it these days.......
The hotel was good with a sitting place in the lawn .... the owner/manager was a real generous person. We felt like we were home. He even let me park the bike in the Lawn of the hotel and later at night he put chain around it and looked it for extra security.
We really enjoyed our stay at that hotel. even though it was a simple place but the generosity of the hotel crew made our stay unforgettable.......
We were tired and wanted to wake up before the sun rise so we slept early......
