Altis 1.6 is underpowered as compared to Grande and because of 20 year old 4 speed auto transmission which just kills the potential of 1.6 ltr dual vvti engine
Grande 1.8 is underpowered as compared to Corolla Altis 2.0 Ltr and Corolla S 2.4 ltr ..
Similarly Gli 1.3 is underpowered as compared to its higher end variants 1.6 and 1.8
But apart from that Gli 1.3 manual and auto both arent underpowered at all and more than enough for daily city driving infact for highways too
its not a race car
0 to 100 in 16 seconds is just fine for a car this big n heavy and with a small 1.3 ltr engine which saves you from massive WHT and registration charges gives you the same comfort you get in top of the line corolla variant and an outstanding same shape as grande n bla bla bla variant of Altis ..
This is for the 1st time that we have bought 1.3 Corolla variants
In past i had always kept top of the line variants of Corolla and always had huge losses at the time of resale
I joined pakwheels in 2007 and have kept / purchased 4 Civics and 5 Corollas after that
And i have learnt this
Both are good cars but in 1.8 ltr segment one should always buy a Civic and in 1.3 category one should always buy a corolla and not city !
