While many of your other points may be right, but why do you assume MG sells the HS to Afridi’s company at another country’s list price? His price has to be lower, at the level of an agent/ distribution partner’s price. It will probably not be as low as what Fazal Sb has discovered (meaning there is probably a bit of underinvoicing), but it will still be lower than the MRP in the UK. Hence the tax applicable will be much lower than your estimate.
Of course many things still wrong in this scenario.

I only wanted to bring out the huge difference in 'should be' and 'is' price, which is inexplainable from business profit perspective unless taxes are zero, which they surely are.

Also, duties usually qoute and for some cars are calculated based on the invoice price of the vehicle...

Please listen to the above clip. The minister is clearly stating that there's a set number of units which are allowed to be imported as CBUs and after that the company needs to setup a plant. And if they dont do so, they will have to return the duties waived off on the imports to the govt.

Both Sportage and 2son interior is nothing as compare with MG's. But the main difference is 1.5 and 2.0.

A 3S dealership has to have a large showroom at least big enough to accommodate 4/5 cars/variants.It must have a fully equipped workshop with separate bays/shops for various jobs to be carried out.It must have a fully equipped spare part section and must ensure availability of same promptly.Not what people experienced with Sportage when cars got stuck in their workshops for months due non-availability of a part.Tucson,MG and Proton need to ensure that all is in place before they can make an honest and creditable sale.
As regards 1.5 and 2.0 litre cars please note the 1.5 ones come with a turbo and that's a helluva a power boost.Having tested Sportage and Proton with sports mode on, let me tell you that there is an appreciable difference in pick up.I also felt a much smoother and faster shifting of gears of 7-gear DCT.

I do agree with the smoother gears, but it also has a downside; a slightly jerky/unsettled ride at slower stop/start traffic.
I've also driven x70, sportage and while I own tucson; I can pretty confidently say that all of them have almost similar 0-100 times (10sec x70 vs 10.8sec tucson) (fwd versions). The feel you explain is partly due to the turbo torque and mostly due to the heavier weight. And yes, the transmission in Koreans is pretty slow. So that is what causes the acceleration difference.
The 1.5 in proton also "very slightly" judders upon accelerating from low rpm range, which is not the case with 2.0 that is smoother across the rev range.
